As Boruto and Sarada made their way to the office, the morning sun cast a warm glow over Konoha, and the streets were buzzing with life. The aroma of fresh ramen wafted through the air, making Boruto's stomach growl despite his earlier breakfast.
“You know, I could really go for some ramen right now,” Boruto said, his eyes lighting up as they passed a ramen shop. “How about a quick detour?”
Sarada chuckled, shaking her head. “As much as I’d love some, I can’t. I need to get to work, remember?”
Boruto pouted playfully, feigning disappointment. “Fine, but you owe me ramen later. And maybe some extra nigiri too.”
Sarada laughed, her heart warming at his playful demeanor. “Deal. But you better not prank me again, or you’ll be the one on the receiving end!”
Boruto held up his hands defensively. “No more pranks, I promise! At least not today.”
They arrived at the Hokage office, and as soon as Sarada stepped inside, she was greeted by her aides, who immediately began updating her on the day’s agenda. Sarada put on her serious face, ready to dive into her responsibilities, but she could feel Boruto’s gaze on her, a comforting presence in the midst of her hectic schedule.
As the hours passed, Sarada tried to focus on her tasks, but she couldn’t help but feel a bit distracted. Boruto had settled into a chair nearby, doodling in a notebook while pretending to look busy. She could sense his occasional glances her way, which made it hard to concentrate.
Finally, during a brief lull in meetings, she caught his eye and motioned for him to come over. “What are you doing?” she whispered, trying to keep her voice down.
“Just taking notes,” Boruto replied, grinning. “You know, for my own future Hokage skills.”
Sarada raised an eyebrow. “Right. And how’s that working out for you?”
“Pretty well, I think,” he said with a wink. “I’m learning a lot from my amazing wife.”
She couldn’t help but smile at his words, feeling a rush of warmth. “You’re too much, Boruto.”
Suddenly, the door swung open, and Shikadai stepped in, a stack of documents in hand. “Sarada-sama, we need to discuss the upcoming village festival.”
“Right, let’s get to it,” Sarada replied, straightening up and shifting into work mode.
As they began discussing the festival preparations, Sarada felt a surge of energy. Her earlier worries about being overwhelmed faded away, replaced by the excitement of working for her village. With Boruto nearby, she felt grounded and supported.
After a productive afternoon, they finally wrapped up the meeting. Sarada leaned back in her chair, sighing in relief. “That was intense.”
“Just a typical day in the life of a Hokage,” Boruto said, standing up and stretching. “You handled it like a pro.”
“Thanks. I couldn’t have done it without your support.”
“Speaking of support,” Boruto said, an impish glint in his eyes, “how about that ramen now?”
“Alright, let’s go!” Sarada laughed, gathering her things. “But no spicy pranks this time!”
They walked out of the office together, hand in hand, excitement bubbling between them. As they strolled toward the ramen shop, Sarada felt grateful for these small moments. After everything that had happened, she appreciated the mundane things—like sharing a meal with Boruto, enjoying the simple joys of life.
When they reached the ramen shop, they ordered their bowls, and Boruto, unable to contain himself, immediately began slurping his noodles. “This is amazing!” he exclaimed, his eyes sparkling.
Sarada shook her head in amusement, unable to stop herself from laughing at his enthusiasm. “You really need to work on your table manners.”
“Hey, when it’s this good, who cares?” he shot back, a playful grin on his face.
As they ate, they talked about everything and nothing—laughing over silly stories and sharing dreams for the future. Sarada felt lighter, her earlier worries fading away with each moment they spent together.
After finishing their meal, Boruto leaned back, a satisfied grin on his face. “Okay, now that was worth it. I think I’m in love all over again!”
Sarada rolled her eyes but couldn’t hide her smile. “You really are too much sometimes.”
Boruto shrugged, leaning closer. “But you love me for it.”
“Yeah, I guess I do,” she admitted, her heart swelling.
As they walked home, hand in hand, Sarada realized that no matter how tough her duties as Hokage got, moments like these—filled with laughter, love, and a touch of mischief—made it all worthwhile. And she promised herself that she would never take these precious moments for granted again.
