She picked a horror movie, a little smirk playing on her lips as she settled back beside him on the bed.

Boruto’s eyes widened as he read the title. “A horror movie? Really, Sara?” He gave her a pleading look. “Can we just watch something... I don’t know, rom-com? You know, something fun and light?”

She raised an eyebrow, suppressing a laugh. “What happened to the fearless shinobi who’s faced countless enemies? Afraid of a little movie, Boruto?”

He scoffed, folding his arms. “Hey, I’m not afraid. Just... not in the mood to have nightmares tonight, that’s all.”

“Right,” she teased, rolling her eyes. “Don’t worry, I’ll protect you.” She nudged him playfully before pressing play, the eerie soundtrack filling the room.

As the movie began, Sarada watched with an amused smile as Boruto shifted uncomfortably, already frowning at the creepy scenes unfolding. But halfway through, when a jump scare had him visibly flinch, she couldn’t hold back her laughter any longer.

He shot her a glare, cheeks flushed. “Oh, so you think this is funny, huh?”

“Yes, actually.” She chuckled, leaning against him. “You’re adorable when you’re pretending not to be scared.”

Boruto huffed, pulling her closer as if for protection. “If anyone’s getting scared here, it’s definitely not me. Besides, I’m just... keeping you close. Just in case you get scared, you know?”

“Uh-huh,” she replied, giving him a knowing smile. As the movie went on, Boruto’s arm around her grew tighter with every eerie sound, and she could feel him tense up.

Finally, when a particularly terrifying scene came on, Boruto quickly buried his face in her shoulder, muttering, “Alright, fine. Maybe rom-coms aren’t so bad after all.”

She laughed softly, pressing a gentle kiss to his hair. “Don’t worry, Boruto. I’ll protect you from all the ghosts.”
