Inojin crossed his arms firmly. "And also, I’m taking back that paperwork. There’s no way I'm letting you handle it when you're still unwell."

Sarada’s eyes widened, and she immediately reached out, pleading, “No! Inojin, please, I promise I won’t overdo it. Just… please, don’t take it back.”

Boruto took this opportunity to jump in, “No, Inojin, don’t listen to her! Take it back, otherwise, she’s never going to rest like she should.”

Sarada shot Boruto a look and slapped his arm lightly. “Ow!” he yelped, rubbing his arm with a pout.

Turning back to Inojin, Sarada tried again, “Inojin, please. I promise I’ll behave and… and won’t work… too much…”

Inojin shook his head, unfazed. “No—” he began, but before he could finish, Hima walked into the room, carrying a tray of tea and snacks. Seeing her brought an instant wave of relief to Sarada; she knew Hima would be on her side.

Hima scanned the scene, catching her boyfriend mid-lecture with her brother and sister-in-law. She smirked knowingly. “So… what’s going on here?”

Sarada immediately turned to Hima with hopeful eyes, “Hima! Inojin’s trying to take the work back!”

Inojin didn’t miss a beat. “Yes, I am. She needs to rest, and this is her punishment for not taking care of herself. And you”—he pointed at Boruto—“make sure you keep an eye on her.”

Hima rolled her eyes and stepped in, placing the tray down. “Inojin, stop it. Sarada-nee is already sick, and if she insists this much, it’s better to let her keep it. Besides, I’ll make sure she doesn’t overdo it.”

Inojin softened, as he let out a deep sigh, finally relenting. “Fine…”

Both Boruto and Sarada looked up at him in disbelief, exchanging a stunned glance. Just moments ago, Inojin had been adamant, and now, with just a word from Hima, he’d completely changed his stance. They looked at him with shocked expressions, clearly wondering how he’d softened so quickly.

Inojin noticed their stares and shrugged, trying to play it off. “What? Hima has a point. But I’m still watching you both.”
