As Sarada drifted off in Boruto’s arms, he watched her with a gentle smile, feeling relieved to see her finally resting. He carefully pulled the blanket up to her shoulders, making sure she was cozy and warm. He stroked her hair softly, his fingers moving gently, almost absentmindedly, while he listened to the sound of her breathing as it evened out.

Minutes passed as he simply sat there, content just to be close to her, watching over her like a silent guardian. His mind wandered back to the events of the past few days and how close she’d come to pushing herself past her limits again. It worried him how much she was willing to sacrifice without thinking about herself, her health, or the toll it took on everyone who loved her.

After a while, Boruto gently shifted to lay beside her, positioning himself to be there if she needed anything. He took her hand in his, his thumb rubbing soft circles across the back of it.

Just then, Sarada stirred a little, unconsciously shifting closer to him, her hand gripping his slightly tighter. Her face held a hint of peacefulness, and it made Boruto’s heart feel lighter, knowing she was able to rest.

Boruto: (whispering to himself) You're so strong, Sara. But sometimes, even the strongest people need someone to lean on.

He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on her forehead, lingering for a moment.

Boruto: I’ll always be here for you, you know? he murmured softly, his voice barely a whisper. So please… take care of yourself too.

He continued to hold her close, determined to make sure she took every bit of rest she needed.
