A few hours later, Boruto stirred in his sleep, sensing something was wrong. He placed his hand gently on Sarada's forehead, only to feel a sudden wave of heat radiating from her skin. Her fever had spiked drastically, but she remained fast asleep, completely unaware of it.

A pang of worry hit him as he tried to gently shake her shoulder. "Sarada? Hey, wake up, princess."

When she didn’t respond, panic began to rise in his chest. He quickly got up and hurried to grab a damp cloth from the bathroom, running it under cold water. Returning to her side, he placed it carefully on her forehead, hoping the coolness would help bring down her temperature.

The sudden cold seemed to stir her. Sarada’s eyes fluttered open slowly, looking disoriented as she registered Boruto's worried face hovering over her.

“Boruto?” she mumbled, her voice barely a whisper, a bit confused by the cold compress.

He gave a small sigh of relief, the tension easing just a bit. "You scared me, you know," he whispered, brushing a few damp strands of hair away from her face. "Your fever spiked, and you wouldn’t wake up."

Sarada gave him a weak smile, trying to reassure him. "I’m okay... it’s just a fever."

"Just a fever?" Boruto scolded lightly, his voice filled with both frustration and worry. "You’re not allowed to brush this off, not when you’ve been pushing yourself so hard."

She gave a slight nod, closing her eyes as the cool cloth soothed her feverish skin. "Alright, alright... I won’t argue," she whispered, letting herself relax.

Boruto kept a watchful eye on her, determined to stay by her side for the rest of the night. He continued to change the compress, carefully placing it on her forehead to keep her fever down.

Finally, as her breathing settled and her body seemed to relax, he gently squeezed her hand. "Just rest, okay? I’m not going anywhere."

And with his quiet promise, Sarada drifted back into a peaceful sleep, comforted by his unwavering presence at her side.
