Naruto leaned bac k against the wall, crossing his arms with a teasing grin. "Well, looks like someone is gonna get scolded," he said, glancing between Boruto and Sarada, a playful glint in his eye.
Boruto groaned, rolling his eyes dramatically. "Thanks for the reminder, Dad. Just what I need, more pressure." He shot Sarada a sympathetic look, knowing she felt the same. "I can already hear Inojin’s voice in my head: ‘How could you let her get sick? You’re supposed to take care of her!’"
Sarada couldn’t help but laugh despite her worry. "Yeah, and I’ll probably get the ‘you need to take better care of yourself’ speech," she said, mimicking Inojin’s stern tone. "Honestly, it’s like being scolded by an older brother who happens to be your friend."
Naruto chuckled, shaking his head. "You both know he just cares about you, right? Inojin sees you as family, and he takes that role seriously. It’s a good thing, even if it feels overwhelming sometimes."
"I get that," Sarada replied, her tone softening. "It’s just… I hate feeling like a burden. I want to help everyone, not just sit around while they do all the work."
Boruto, sitting up straighter, quickly reassured her. "You’re not a burden, Sarada. Everyone understands you’re sick, and it’s okay to take a break. You’re doing your best, and that’s what matters."
Naruto nodded in agreement. "Just focus on getting better, Sarada. Your health comes first, and we’ll all manage. I promise you, Konoha will still be standing when you’re ready to come back."
Sarada smiled, feeling a warmth spread through her at their support. "Thanks, you two. It really means a lot."
Just then, Hima poked her head back in the room, her expression mischievous again. "And don’t forget, I’ll be here tomorrow to witness the scolding! I’ll bring popcorn!"
Boruto groaned again, slumping back against the pillows. "Great. Now I have to deal with an audience during my impending doom."
Hima giggled as she retreated from the room once more, leaving Boruto and Sarada to share a look of exasperation, both amused by the situation.
"Tomorrow’s going to be interesting," Sarada said, shaking her head. "At least we’ll have some entertainment."
Boruto laughed softly, squeezing her hand reassuringly. "Just remember, no matter how much trouble we’re in, we’re in this together."
"Yeah," she agreed, feeling a swell of affection for him. "Together."
