As Boruto slept peacefully on her lap, Sarada continued caressing his hair, her touch tender and calming. She couldn’t help but smile at how he seemed like a completely different person when he was this relaxed, his usual energy replaced by quiet vulnerability.

An hour or half later, Boruto stirred. His eyelids fluttered open, revealing his still-tired blue eyes. Sarada noticed immediately and gently brushed a strand of hair from his forehead, her fingers softly grazing his cheek.

Sarada: "Finally awake, sleepyhead?" she teased with a warm smile.

Boruto, still half-asleep, reached up, placing his hand over hers and pressing her palm against his cheek. His voice came out in a low, dreamy murmur.

Boruto: "Hmm… you’re so warm…"

But as he registered what he’d just said, his eyes snapped fully open. His expression turned serious, and he immediately sat up, turning to face her. Without a second thought, he placed his hand on her forehead, his brow furrowing in concern.

Boruto: "You still have a fever?!"

Sarada tried to brush him off, rolling her eyes lightly.

Sarada: "I’m fine, Boruto. You’re overreacting."

Boruto (frowning deeply): "I’m not overreacting, Sara! It’s been days, and your fever still hasn’t completely gone down."

Sarada: "You’re such a worrywart."

Boruto: "You’re not understanding, Sara. It’s not normal for a fever to last this long!"

Sarada sighed, crossing her arms stubbornly.

Sarada: "But I feel perfectly fine. You’re just worrying too much, as usual."

Boruto’s eyes narrowed, his frustration growing.

Boruto: "I wouldn’t have to worry so much if my wife wasn’t so stubborn!"

Sarada raised an eyebrow at him, a playful smirk tugging at her lips despite the tension.

Sarada: "I’m stubborn?! You didn’t let me get out of bed for days, Boruto! Days! And now you’re calling me the stubborn one?"

Boruto (scoffing): "You’re the one who keeps saying you’re fine when you’re clearly not!"

Sarada: "Because I am fine! I just needed a little rest. You’re the one treating me like I’m made of glass!"

Boruto: "Because you push yourself too hard, Sara! You think I don’t know that you already finished the paperwork Inojin brought? And that you’re helping Mom even though you’re supposed to be resting?"

Sarada blinked, caught off guard that he knew so much.

Sarada: "How did you—"

Boruto: "Because I know you, Sarada." His voice softened, but his worry remained. "You always try to hide how you’re really feeling. You hate being idle, and you hate feeling like a burden. But Sara, you’re not a burden. You’re my wife. I’m supposed to take care of you, and you need to let me."

His words made Sarada’s heart ache in the best way, guilt and love swirling inside her. She sighed, reaching out to take his hand.

Sarada: "I know you’re just trying to take care of me, Boruto. And I love you for it. But I hate feeling useless. I hate being stuck in bed when I know there’s work to be done."

Boruto softened at her confession, squeezing her hand gently.

Boruto: "You’re not useless, Sara. You’re the strongest person I know. But even the strongest people need to rest sometimes. You can’t keep pushing yourself like this, or you’ll burn out completely. Please… just let me take care of you for a little longer, okay?"

Sarada sighed, leaning her head against his shoulder.

Sarada: "Fine. But only if you promise not to treat me like a patient forever."

Boruto: "Deal," he said with a small grin, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "But you’re still staying in bed tonight."

Sarada groaned, but her smile betrayed her fondness for him.

Sarada: "You’re impossible, you know that?"

Boruto: "And you’re adorable when you’re stubborn," he teased, earning a playful shove from her as they both laughed, the tension melting away.
