Soon it was lunchtime, and Naruto and Hinata entered the room, each holding a tray: one with Boruto’s lunch, the other with a light meal for Sarada.
Hinata noticed Sarada was still asleep and smiled softly. "Oh! She’s asleep."
Boruto nodded, keeping his voice low. "Yeah, we were watching a movie, but she dozed off halfway through."
Naruto gave a small chuckle, his eyes filled with understanding. "It’s alright, she needed that. How is she doing?"
Boruto sighed, glancing down at Sarada. "The fever’s still there."
Hinata’s expression shifted to concern. "Oh, Kami! Hima, could you get the fever-reducing medicine from the bedside table in our room?”
“Right away, Mom!” Hima dashed off, quickly returning with the medicine, handing it to Boruto.
Naruto placed a reassuring hand on his son’s shoulder. "Boruto, when she wakes up, make sure she eats and takes the medicine. It’ll help bring the fever down."
Boruto nodded, determination in his gaze. “Don’t worry, Dad. I’ll make sure she eats and takes the medicine.”
Satisfied, Naruto, Hinata, and Hima quietly left the room, giving the couple some privacy.

As soon as they were gone, Boruto set the trays aside and looked down at Sarada, gently brushing a stray hair from her face. She stirred slightly, blinking her eyes open, and gave him a drowsy smile.
"Hey, sleepyhead," he greeted her softly, his voice laced with warmth. "You feeling any better?"
She tried to sit up, but he stopped her with a gentle hand on her shoulder. “Wait, take it easy. You still have a fever.”
Sarada sighed, looking slightly annoyed at her own weakness. "I’m fine, Boruto. Just… a little tired, that’s all."
Boruto chuckled, shaking his head. "You always say that. Here," he said, grabbing her tray, "lunch is ready. You’re not getting out of this one, Sarada."
She looked at the tray, feeling her appetite fade, but she knew better than to argue. She gave him a small nod. "Alright, fine… but only if you eat with me."
"Deal," Boruto grinned, setting his own tray on the bed beside hers.
He watched her as she took small bites, but after a few minutes, she slowed down, and he could tell she was struggling to finish. Without a word, he picked up her spoon and gently held it to her lips.
"Come on, princess, just a few more bites," he coaxed, his tone light and encouraging.
She gave him a small, grateful smile and let him feed her, feeling the warmth of his care more than any medicine could provide. Once she finished, Boruto handed her the medicine Hima had brought.
“Alright, now take this. It’ll help with the fever,” he said, handing her a glass of water.
She swallowed the pill, and as she set the glass down, Boruto gently guided her to lie back against the pillows. He tucked the blanket around her, his fingers brushing through her hair in a soothing rhythm.
“Boruto,” she murmured, her voice soft. “Thank you… for everything.”
He smiled, leaning down to press a gentle kiss to her forehead. “You don’t have to thank me, Sarada. Just promise you’ll take better care of yourself.”
She looked up at him, her eyes warm. “I promise… as long as you’re there to remind me.”
Boruto chuckled, his heart swelling with love. "Always," he whispered, lying down beside her, wrapping his arms around her.
With her head resting against his chest, Sarada felt a deep sense of peace wash over her. Within moments, her eyes drifted shut, lulled into a gentle sleep by his steady heartbeat.
And there, in the quiet warmth of their shared embrace, they both found the comfort and strength they needed, surrounded by the silent promise of each other's love and care.
