That evening, Boruto returned home, though this time he didn’t look as drained as he had the previous day. His usual energy was intact, and he entered the house humming a cheerful tune.

Sarada, who was lounging on the couch, looked up as he walked in. She noticed the lack of exhaustion in his movements and smiled to herself, satisfied that her little plan had worked.

Boruto: "I’m home!"

Sarada: "Welcome back."
She set aside the book she was pretending to read and stood up to greet him.

Boruto walked over and gave her a quick peck on the lips, his grin widening as he spoke.

Boruto: "Guess what, princess? Today wasn’t so bad! Shikadai’s a lifesaver—he barely gave me any paperwork! I was done in a few hours."

Sarada arched an eyebrow, fighting back a smirk.
Sarada: "Oh, really? That’s great to hear."

Boruto: "Right? I’m thinking maybe I underestimated this whole Hokage thing. Maybe you’ve just been making it look hard all this time."

She crossed her arms, feigning offense.
Sarada: "Excuse me?!"

Boruto laughed, pulling her into a hug.
Boruto: "Relax, my lady. I’m joking. I know you do way more than I did today. Honestly, I don’t know how you manage to do this every day and still have the energy to deal with me."

Sarada leaned into his embrace, hiding the mischievous glint in her eyes.
Sarada: "If only you knew why today felt so easy."
(She thought in mind)

They moved to the dining table, where Hinata had already set out a delicious spread for dinner.

Boruto: "Where’s Mom? I don’t smell anything burning today."
(He glanced toward the kitchen, teasing.)

From the kitchen, Hinata shot him a look.
Hinata: "Very funny, Boruto. You’re lucky Sarada puts up with your nonsense."

Sarada chuckled softly, watching the playful banter unfold.

As they sat, Boruto glanced at her, his gaze lingering for a moment.
Boruto: "By the way, Sara, how was your day? You didn’t spend all of it stressing about work, did you?"

Sarada shrugged, keeping her tone casual.
Sarada: "I rested, like I promised. Nothing to stress about."

Boruto nodded, satisfied with her answer, and went back to his food.

Later that night, as they settled on the couch, Sarada leaned her head on his shoulder, a content smile on her face.

Boruto: "You know, I think I could do this Hokage thing for a week. Maybe I’ll even make some changes while I’m at it."

Sarada glanced up at him, her voice teasing.
Sarada: "Don’t get any ideas, Mr. Temporary Hokage."

Boruto: "Yes, ma’am. But I gotta say, this whole ‘not being exhausted’ thing is nice. Maybe being Hokage isn’t as bad as I thought."

Sarada smirked to herself, pleased that her plan to lighten his workload was working. She wasn’t about to tell him she’d orchestrated the entire thing with Shikadai’s help.

Sarada: "He doesn’t need to know... for now." (In mind)
