Boruto stayed by Sarada’s side, watching over her as she slept, his worry lingering even though her fever had slightly gone down. He kept changing the cold cloth, not wanting to take any chances with her health. The moonlight streaming in through the window cast a soft glow over her face, highlighting how tired she looked.

He couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt, thinking about how much she pushed herself daily, even when it took a toll on her body. He reached out, brushing a gentle thumb across her cheek, his expression softening. “You’re always so stubborn,” he murmured, a faint smile touching his lips. “But I can’t stand seeing you like this.”

As the hours passed, he continued his vigil, fighting off sleep, determined to make sure her fever didn’t spike again. Just before dawn, Sarada stirred awake, her eyes opening slowly to find Boruto still sitting beside her, looking exhausted but relieved to see her wake up.

She tried to sit up, but he gently stopped her, guiding her back down. “Hey, don’t move yet. You need to rest.”

Sarada sighed, giving him a faint, apologetic smile. “I must look terrible…”

“You look perfect,” he replied softly, squeezing her hand. “But you’re not allowed to get up. You’ve got me worried enough as it is.”

She gave a small laugh, her voice still weak. “You’re worse than my dad with all the worrying.”

Boruto’s lips curved into a smirk. “Well, considering how your dad is with me when it comes to you, I think I’ve got every right to worry.”

Sarada chuckled, though it took a bit of her strength. “I guess… But thank you. Really, I don’t know what I’d do without you.”

He leaned closer, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. “Then you’ll just have to get used to me sticking around,” he whispered, his voice filled with affection.

They stayed like that in a comfortable silence, just enjoying each other's presence. Sarada's hand remained in his, and she could feel the warmth and reassurance in his grip.

Just as the first light of dawn began to peek through the window, Boruto finally relaxed, sensing she was in a better state. “Promise me,” he murmured, looking into her eyes, “that you’ll let me take care of you from now on, alright?”

She gave him a gentle nod, her gaze filled with gratitude and love. “I promise.”

Content, he smiled and lay down beside her, wrapping an arm protectively around her as they both finally drifted off to sleep, with the morning light casting a peaceful glow over them.
