Sarada: You know what? If this keeps going, soon I'll become lazy.

Boruto: (laughing) Lazy? You? What an irony! You’re literally the definition of a workaholic. You know what, why don’t you just let me take care of you for a while?

Sarada: (groaning) Ugh, you’ve been taking care of me for days! Is it still not enough?

Boruto: (raising an eyebrow, smirking) Sara... it’s literally the second day you’ve taken a break from work, and you’re acting like it’s been weeks.

Sarada: (pouting) Two days is too much for me! Do you even realize how much work I would’ve completed if I was in the office right now?

Boruto: (leaning closer, teasing) Oh, I’m sorry, Hokage-sama. Should I apologize for wanting you to not work yourself into an early grave?

Sarada crossed her arms, huffing dramatically, but the corners of her lips twitched, betraying her attempt to stay annoyed.

Sarada: You know what, Boruto? You’re too much sometimes.

Boruto: (grinning) And you love me for it.

Sarada: (rolling her eyes but smiling softly) Unfortunately, I do.

Boruto chuckled, wrapping his arm around her shoulders and pulling her closer.

Boruto: You’re not unfortunate, princess. You’ve got the best nurse in the world taking care of you.

Sarada: (snorting) The best nurse in the world doesn’t whine every five minutes about me working.

Boruto: (feigning offense) Excuse me? I don’t whine! I’m encouraging. There’s a difference.

Sarada: Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night.

Boruto shook his head, pressing a kiss to her temple, making her sigh softly.

Boruto: All jokes aside, Sara, I mean it—take it easy. The village isn’t going to fall apart without you for a few days.

Sarada: (grinning slightly) You say that now, but let’s see how long that optimism lasts when the paperwork starts piling up.

Boruto: (grinning back) Let it pile up. I’d rather have a mountain of paperwork than see you like this again.

Her smile faltered at his words, a flicker of guilt flashing in her eyes.

Sarada: (softly) I’ll be fine, Boruto. I promise.

Boruto: (gently cupping her cheek) I know you will, princess. But let me take care of you until then, okay?

She nodded reluctantly, leaning into his touch as he brushed his thumb over her cheek.

Sarada: Okay. But just for today.

Boruto: (smirking) We’ll see about that.

She groaned again, but there was no real annoyance in her voice, just a quiet acceptance that, at least for now, she was in good hands.
