"Daddy, Daddy, Daddy, Daddy!" Joe exclaimed as he ran from the kitchen into the hallway where he had heard his father enter the house. Paul closed the door kneeling down by Joe who was clearly excited to tell him about his day. He lifted the young boy up in his arms holding him against his hip feeling the beads of water drop from his hair onto his shoulders.
"Hey Joe, did you have a good first day at kindergarten?!" Paul questioned in his kiddie voice, Joe nodded his head gently.
"I made a new friend daddy, her name is Demi!" He boosted Paul smiling.
"My son already has a way with the ladies." He grinned but the smile soon left his lips when he saw his wife stood in the doorway her hands on her hips.
"He's not leaving me yet for anyone," She lectured smiling as Paul put their middle son down on the floor, he wondered over taking her hand. "Go get yourself dried, it's throwing it down." She instructed as she led Joe into the kitchen where he was before helping his mother with dinner. He hadn't stopped talking about Demi since he got home but Denise thought it was nice that he had grown a connection with someone in a say.
"Then we drawed together!" Joe stated Denise smiling.
"Is Demi pretty?" Denise inquired but Joe shook his head.
"Girls have cooties!" He grinned making Denise laugh.
"Does that mean I have cooties?" Denise questioned Joe shook his head again.
"Mommies don't have cooties." Joe stated helping her mould the mince meat into burger shapes for dinner, he usually helped out with dinner, Denise thought one day he was going to become her little chef, even when he was just one she would sit him up on the counter giving him a potato and a peeler to help out. Mainly to keep him awake until after dinner but he seemed to enjoy it.
"Momma!" Nick exclaimed as Paul wondered through with Nick in his arms.
"Hi Nicky!" Joe kissed his cheek making the little boy squeal.
Demi too hasn't stopped talking about Joe since she got home with her mother, her step dad was now the one who had started to hear about the boy she had become friends with over the day as they all ate dinner together. The parents thought it was great that she had made a friend, they wanted her to be happy and she clearly was.
"Then me and Joe drew a picture!" Demi exclaimed Eddie smiling.
"That's great princess," Eddie cooed.
"I think somebody has a little crush," Dianna stated smiling as Demi's cheeks turned to deep red colour. The parents laughed as Demi buried her head into her hands. "There's nothing wrong with liking a boy Demi, it's normal."
"I want to get married to Joey like you and daddy!" Demi exclaimed.
"Whoa hold on baby girl, we don't want to lose you to a boy quite yet, you have plenty of time until you need to get married." Eddie stated.
"I want a dress like mommy's when I do!" Dianna and Eddie had gotten married earlier that year and since then it was all that Demi could talk about. She wanted her wedding just like her parent's was and not any different. She had already asked her mother if she could wear the same dress, they would keep it in case she does.
"You can have my dress if you want princess now eat your vegetables." The two parents laughed again as Demi rolled her eyes picking her fork up again stabbing the piece of broccoli on her plate beginning to chew at it. Joe and Demi had become friends over the day and they were looking forward to seeing each other the next day.
