~Five Years Later~

It had been five years since Demi moved away to start her career and train to be a day care nanny. As soon as she was trained she was offered a job which she took and had stayed in until now when she had quit. Her Grandmother died and she didn't want to stay here alone when she had nobody but a couple of friends. No friend she had made had been as good as a friend that Joe was. She was moving back now with her parents after the funereal. She was scared about seeing Joe again after all these years, they hadn't seen or spoken to one another. Demi had changed her phone number so he couldn't contact her and told her parents to not reveal anything, they respected that.

"I've enjoyed the past couple of years but it's nice to be back in the place I grew up." Demi spoke through a sigh of relief as she entered her house.

"Well you can stay here for as long as you need." Eddie answered kissing her head.

"I don't think it will be too long, I want to start my own day care service which I'll probably do at home until hopefully it gets popular then move to a building," Demi explains her parents smiling, Demi looked around the halls frowning slightly when she saw a picture of her and Joe when they were about six. She picked the frame up smiling slightly.

"He's a head chef now in a popular restaurant, he still comes over weekly to see us." Dianna explained placing her hands on her daughter's shoulders.

"Well you always did see him as your son and he saw you as his second parents," Demi answered putting it back down. "Is he still um with..."

"Yes he's with Emily still, they're getting married in a couple of months. Do you still like him in that way?" Eddie questioned but Demi shook her head.

"I think the separation helped with that," Demi admitted but she wasn't sure about her feelings, she had a short term boyfriend back in Texas but she didn't like him that much and soon ended. She just wanted to know what it was like to have a boyfriend. "I think I'll go see him a little later on, it will be nice to catch up."

"He lives with Emily but we'll give you their address."

"Let's get some stuff unpacked first." Dianna suggested picking up some bags heading upstairs.

Joe wondered up the path after work that evening entering the house. Although he was a chef himself Emily did most of the cooking at home for herself. Joe often ate at the restaurant so Emily would feed herself when she got home from her job of a teacher, their jobs didn't work too well together Joe being at home while Emily was at work and vice versa. They only saw each other of a morning before Emily left and an hour before Joe went to work.

"It's only me!" Joe exclaimed kicking his shoes before making his way into the living room smiling when he saw Emily sat on the couch marking books.

"Hey how was work?" Emily questions as she made room to sit down next to her which he did. He already showered at work and changed into leisure clothes.

"Yeah it was good besides being short of staff, I'll have to hold some interviews," Joe shrugged his shoulders gently. "Did you take a test?"

"Yeah it didn't work again," Emily breathed Joe sighing leaning his head back against the couch. "If we were meant to have a baby we'll have one." She laid her hand on his leg as his head came back down hearing the doorbell echo throughout the small family house. He kissed the side of her head before getting up.

"I wonder who this could be so late." Joe stated as he made his way over to the door. He opened it his eyes widening when he saw a familiar face.

"Demi." Joe breathed as she smiled up at him.
