Fifty Four

"Aw my baby boy I missed you." Demi cooed as she brought Elliot in her arms kissing over his face. Joe couldn't help but laugh as the boy's arms came up as if he was trying to push his mother away from him. Joe kissed his head gently as Demi bounced him in her arms Elliot now cooing clearly enjoying the attention he was gaining from his mother.

"At least his rash is gone." Joe noticed letting Elliot wrap his fist around Joe's finger, all three babies seemed to like to do it. Joe shook his hand gently kissing his head again.

"How was your first night?" Miranda questioned as she looked into the stroller, the two girls were asleep next to each other. There was a spare seat in the stroller ready for Elliot when he was able to come home with them.

"I think it went well, when one woke so did the other but they didn't seem to stay awake for too long after a feed or change." Demi explained cooing down at her son.

"He's just had a feed so he's a little more awake," She explains. "You're welcome to take him for a walk in the gardens with the girls if you want." Joe and Demi turned to each other before nodding their heads. Demi laid Elliot in the stroller next to Elsie strapping him in having to readjust the straps so he was secure. They then left Joe pushing the stroller. They enjoyed the attention they got from other patients because they were proud of their family.

"It's weird to think in a couple of weeks we could have them all home." Demi admitted standing next to Joe as they exited the hospital heading towards the gardens where patients could go out to and get some fresh air. They weren't too premature to go for a walk.

"It will be good though, when he does our lives will be more hectic than what they are now but it will be worth it in the future when we get a lifetime with these." Joe stated.

"What does it feel like to finally be a dad?" Demi questioned a small smile on her face, she knew how long he had wanted this.

"I don't think it's sunk in yet, it might do when I start to get less and less sleep." Demi laughed as he grabbed her hand tangling their fingers together kissing the side of her head. It both felt right for them at the moment to be in a relationship, they both hoped and felt like it was going to go a long way. They had to at least stay best friends anyway if they were going to raise their three children together, the reason they were here in the first place was for Joe but he knew he wouldn't be able to do it alone. Demi was a great mother to them already having carried them around for eight months and even now she knew what she was doing to become a great mom.

Joe and Demi spent about an hour out with Elliot before he started to get fussy and disturb the girls who were also due for a diaper change. They headed back into the hospital Demi now having hold of Elliot rocking him gently.

"You head back with Elliot, I'll go change the girls." Joe stated Demi nodding her head the two of them sharing a kiss before separating Joe heading towards the nearest bathroom. Demi heading back so Elliot could be with the nurses.

"It's okay baby boy, we'll be back soon." Demi breathed kissing his head gently as he made whining sounds against his mother. She got back with her son who was taken back from Miranda Demi getting ready to pump some milk for her son to have. It was hard for them to say goodbye to Elliot when the time came but they would be back later on in the day.

"I don't think I need to come with you everytime, I'll leave the evening one and stay home with the girls so you can bond with Elliot by yourself." Joe stated after her climbed into the driver's side of the car having strapped Elsie into the car and put the stroller down so it would fit into the trunk of the car, it was a big one with holding three babies.

"I'm fine if you want to come and spend time with your son." Demi stated looking at him.

"Nah it's fine, there's plenty of time for that plus I can bond with the girls a bit then." Joe answered leaning over kissing her gently turning around smiling at his girls who were slowly falling back to sleep after a change and a look around their environment. Demi smiled too as she looked. They were then off heading towards home but they would soon be back at the hospital to see little Elliot again. It wasn't ideal but they would do it.
