Demi made it to the bus stop the next day so she could get to school. She was a bit concerned that Joe wasn't there by now but she knew that he sometimes ran late. It was rare but with him having two brothers to get ready too sometimes Denise lost track of time a little bit. It was a little while longer when she heard her name being shouted turning around seeing Joe running towards her approaching her standing next to her at the front of the queue for the bus stop.
"Why do you look so excited?" Demi questions.
"Because mom and dad are having another baby!" Joe exclaimed a smile pulling at either side of Demi's lips as she heard the news for the first time.
"That's great Joe! You already have two brothers and now about the have another! I don't even have one!" Demi complained making Joe laugh.
"Hey! I might have a sister." Joe argued but Demi shook her head.
"Not with two brothers, your parents are just destined to have gross boys!" Demi teased making him laugh, he was just excited to become a big brother again.
They reached school Joe and Demi ready to learn, they had always been the clever ones. Sat at the front of the class, getting all their work done when told asking for extensions if they had done it quickly. They knew they needed to take their education for granted knowing that some children didn't get the chance they did. Plus they wanted to do well in school when they finally graduated and knew they had to work.
"Are you okay?" Miss Daniels questioned as she bent down to their desks where they were writing as they were chatting about something random. They both nodded their heads gently. "What are you two writing about?"
"I'm writing about my parents bringing home my baby brother or sister." Joe revealed a grin on his face, he really was excited about the news that his parents had told him the night before. He couldn't wait to finally meet his brother or sister.
"Is your mom having a baby?" Miss Daniels questioned Joe nodding his head. "How many is that now? I remember teaching Kevin."
"I have a little brother too, he's eight." Joe stated.
"Aw hopefully you'll get a sister this time."
"I think mom wants a girl." Joe admitted making Miss Daniels smile, she left the two of them alone so they could get their extension done. They were the best students she had in her class, she thought about splitting them up so they could influence other students but she didn't think that was for the best. She could see how inseparable they were.
"Demi can I try something?" Joe questioned breaking the silence between they at lunch time. They were sat on a bench as they shared their lunch together. They quite often swapped certain items of their lunch knowing what each other likes. Demi took a sip from her bottle of water before answering her best friend.
"What?" She inquired.
"I was talking to Kevin last night about dating and kissing, I wanted to see what the fuss was so..." Joe begun leaning in kissing her gently, Demi was surprised but kissed back. Joe pulled away from her shrugging his shoulders. "Nah I don't see the fuss." Joe got up leaving his lunch behind him Demi watching as he made his way over to the bathroom. She couldn't help but blush as he disappeared. She had always dreamt that Joe was her first kiss and now he was, she could still feel the tingles running through her body as she remembered what his lips felt like on hers. She could only feel herself falling for him more even though she begged herself to stop.
