June made its appearance quicker than what Joe and Demi thought it would but they were in the hospital after Demi had started to experience contractions. They were warned that triplets often came premature so they were prepared physically and mentally if it did. They had a bag by the door ready since May in case a emergency appeared which they were glad it wasn't. Their girls were only four weeks early which was amazing, the midwifes thought they'd be earlier. At the moment they were all getting prepared for the c-section.
"Joe stay with me." Demi begged looking up at her best friend who leaned down kissing her forehead gently. He could see how scared she was getting.
"Of course, you'll have to have the injection by yourself and get set up but as soon as you've been set up I'll be in and we can welcome our girls." Joe answered.
"I-I'm still worried about Ellie." Demi feared. Baby C now had a name.
"I know you are but you don't need to be, the doctors said she is fine." Joe assured her holding onto her hand. Nothing else had happened between the two of them, Demi won't lie, she was waiting for something wondering how long it was going to take Joe to get over Emily completely. It had been six months now and he didn't seem too bothered by it anymore. Sometimes when someone brought her up he'd shed a little tear but other than that nothing. She still had a place on their wall, a picture of her and Joe up on the living room wall all other pictures been taken away ready for pictures of the girls to go up when they were here.
"I'm just a worried mother." Demi admitted.
"I know and I'm a worried father who is staying calm for their mother." Demi giggled gently smiling as he leaned down kissing her cheek gently. They gazed back into each other's eyes slowly leaning in getting inches apart before Joe quickly pulled away when the door opened.
"Are you ready Demi?" Miranda, the midwife questioned Demi nodding her head gently. She looked at Joe one last time as he helped her off the bed. She was assisted out of the room smiling when she saw her family and Joe's family waiting for them. They were given hugs and best wishes before they both left down the hall so they could finally meet their daughters.
Demi had an injection in her back so she wouldn't be in pain while she had the c-section done, she'd be able to feel something but it wouldn't be painful. It would be a weird sensation for her but she'd put up with it. She was meeting her daughters for the first time. She was laid back on the gurney a screen covering her and her large bump. She was scared for what was about to happen but calmed down a bit when she saw the man she loved sit down next to her all dressed up in scrubs so infection would cause an issue to Demi or his daughters.
"It will be okay." He reassured her kissing her cheek wiping away her tears as he took hold of her hand squeezing it gently.
"I can't feel my body." She giggled slightly Joe laughing. The procedure was started Demi's stomach sliced open so they could meet their daughters, Demi knew her body wouldn't be the same after this but she didn't care as long as she had her babies. It was a couple of minutes later they heard cries fill the room the tears falling down their own cheeks.
"Here's baby number one." the surgeon called bringing the baby over to them the two of them smiling as their laid eyes on their daughter for the first time but she was soon taken away to be checked over.
"Evie." Joe whispered in Demi's ear kissing her hair. It was another couple of minutes later that they were shown little Elsie who was crying just as much as her older sister. They wanted to hold them but getting them all out was more important at the moment. Demi felt the same sensation that she felt for her first two daughters coming out. The tears fell down her cheeks quicker Joe hardly able to keep up with wiping them. She knew her third daughter was born.
But there was no cry to be heard.
