"Fine you can have one." Brad stated moving the plate closer to him, Joe had met Emily's parents before but they didn't tend to spend much time at each other's houses, they liked going out to various places, they were both outdoor people and Joe hoped when his son or daughter arrived they would share that trait too. "Why did you think it was even a good idea to sleep with my daughter never mind knocking her up." Joe had to bite his tongue at his statement. He didn't knock Emily up, their baby wasn't planned but that doesn't mean they aren't getting used to becoming parents more as time went by. He could feel protectiveness already over his child.
"I didn't knock her up," Joe begun. "We've been dating for over a year now and we both thought we were ready to take that step in the relationship, I used protection both times we've done it but obviously they aren't one hundred percent affective."
"And Emily came crying home saying you ran away." Brad stated stirring his coffee.
"I'll admit that, I panicked and ran away to my best friend's house. I let us both think things over before coming here this morning. I know it's not ideal to have a baby at seventeen but I'm going to get a job somewhere to support my child and focus more on my studies." Joe explained finally taking a bite from the cookie in his hands.
"I'm not saying I like you so don't get big headed but I'm thankful your stepping up to your responsibilities. Have you told your parents yet?" Joe shook his head gently.
"I was going to suggest to Emily going in a bit and telling them together." Joe explained Brad nodding his head gently.
"I'm sure they just have to cool down and think about it and they'll be fine." Demi encouraged dragging him down on the bed next to her stopping him from pacing around the room. He had just come from home where he had told his parents Emily was pregnant, they didn't take it well Emily insisting she wanted to be alone so Joe came to Demi's house.
"I don't think they've ever liked Emily you know, that's what it is." Joe mumbled laying back on the bed but his legs staying curved over the side.
"I'm sure they don't hate her." Demi stated but she knew they didn't like her and it was because everybody knew she had a crush on the boy next to her. All besides the boy and his girlfriend. She knew she never stood a chance with Joe.
"I was getting used to the idea of becoming a dad but I don't know if I can do it without my parents support." Joe mumbled.
"They'll come around, did you speak to Emily?" Joe nodded his head gently.
"And her dad," He mumbled again making her laugh as he sat back up. "I think he's starting to like me just a little bit more but I know I'd be the same for my daughter when she starts dating. Not until she is thirty." Demi giggled laying her head down on his shoulder smiling as her wrapped his arm around her waist kissing the top of her head. If she couldn't have him as her boyfriend him being her best friend was the next best thing.
"I'm going to be cool Aunt Demi since you don't have any sisters." Demi grinned Joe smiling at the idea, Demi was good with children and he knew she'd be good with his child when he or she arrived. He knew it's what she wanted to do as a job one day, anything to do with kids.
"Thanks for being there for Demi, it means a lot." Joe spoke Demi able to hear how much it did mean to him in his tone.
"No problem Joe, I'll always be here for you," Joe smiled pulling away from her pushing her down on the bed. "What are you doing!" Demi exclaimed but started laughing when he begun to tickle her trying to push his hands away but he was too strong for her. Joe loved Demi's laugh, it was contagious to him. Demi eventually managed to push him off her pulling his hair making him squeal, they both laughed as they messed around as seventeen year olds. Not seven.
