"Demi!" Joe called as he entered her house. She had texted him while he was at work asking for him. He rushed home as soon as he could once he knew the assistant head chef was on top with everything that was going on. Dianna came to greet him giving him a warm smile and a hug, he was like the son she never had. "What's wrong with Demi?"
"She's been having morning sickness, Eddie has been with her but she wants you." Joe rushed off towards the bathroom where he saw Demi leant against the bath breathing heavy. He couldn't help but frown as he saw her. She looked weak and not strong like she usually did, it was clear she had put her guard down. Joe sat down next to her wrapping his arm around her.
"J-Joe." She stammered but Joe shushed her kissing her head.
"It's okay Demi, it's just morning sickness. It will pass over soon." He assured her grabbing a tissue wiping her sweaty forehead.
"I forgotten how much I hate throwing up," Demi cracked a small joke Joe laughing slightly but held her closer watching the tears roll down her cheeks. "If I can't stand morning sickness what makes you think I'll manage the birth?"
"Don't think about the Dem and you'll be having a c-section with triplets so that will take the pain away a little bit," Demi leaned her head on his shoulder catching her breath back a bit. Joe always knew how to cheer her up and him holding her in his arms made her realise even more she still did have feelings for him but she didn't want to. He was getting married next month and he would be taken forever. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm gonna throw up again." She mumbled getting up again Joe sighing kneeling up next to her holding her hair back and rubbing her back gently. He didn't like to see his best friend like this but they both knew that it would be worth it in the end. They would have three little ones here to watch grow up into decent human beings. Demi had all faith in Joe and Emily that they would be good parents to her children.
Joe lifted Demi up in her arms kissing her head as she slowly fell asleep against him exhausted from the last hour throwing up none stop. Dianna and Eddie gave them a sympathetic look as Joe made his way upstairs laying Demi down in her bed, he made sure the bin was next to her in case she needed to throw up again and wouldn't make it to the bathroom. He brought the covers up her body smiling as he saw how calm she was now she was asleep.
"Goodnight Demi." He kissed her head before leaving the room making sure the light was off and the door was shut behind him.
"Is she okay?" Dianna questioned as he made his way downstairs the two parents meeting him at the bottom of the stairs. He nodded his head.
"She's asleep now." He gave them both a hug.
"You're welcome to stay if you want." Eddie offered but Joe shook his head gently.
"I should get home to Emily, we have some last minute wedding planning to do. Could you ask Demi to come over tomorrow if she's up to it? Emily wants her opinion on something but her sister who is maid of honour has gone to visit their parents for the week."
"Yeah sure goodnight Joe," Dianna kissed his cheek gently Joe smiling saying his goodbyes before leaving the house with his jacket on. It was November and getting very cold. Emily had a long dress which would keep her warm at their wedding on Christmas eve. "I hope poor Demi doesn't get too heartbroken by all this."
"I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't turn up to the wedding." Eddie stated as they both made their way back into the living room knowing that Demi was safe in bed. They hadn't noticed Joe come back in for his hat.
"Of course she would, Joe means the world to her. Even if she does have strong feelings for him she wouldn't miss her best friend getting married." Joe raised his eyebrow slightly standing there for a couple of moments to see if they would say anything else when they did he left the house again his hat on his head.
"Demi likes me?" Joe questioned.
