Joe and Demi were going to go straight home but they decided it would be a good idea if they would talk over with Wilmer what was going to happen. Joe was trying to keep his anger in as much as he could but he didn't know if he would be able to if this baby turned out to be Wilmer's and he didn't know if he would be able to trust Demi again. They all got a drink and a snack to eat while they had a chat about what they thought was best.
"I could get a paternity test at ten weeks but it's expensive." Demi stated looking between Joe and Wilmer, she didn't want to make Wilmer think they were leaving him out. It was just they had been best friends for so long and have been through so much together.
"How much does it cost? I'll pay half." Wilmer answered.
"At least if we do get it done it will give us chance to prepare for what is gonna happen." Joe added the two of them nodded their head in agreement. Wilmer wouldn't be sticking around if the baby wasn't his he knew that much.
"It's a thousand so we pay half and Wilmer pays half I can have it done?" Demi questioned looking between them again seeing them both nodding their heads. They both wanted to know so they could decide what to do next. They both wanted to be the father so they could be with Demi, Wilmer thought he stood more chance if the baby was his and Joe knew if the baby was his he'd think about taking Demi back. Demi was hoping it was Joe's, she loved him and only wanted children with the man she loved, they already had three together.
Joe pulled up turning to Demi when she said his name to stop him from leaving the car and going up to the house. She could feel how tense it was between the three of them while they were at the hospital, if it was Wilmer's baby she knew she probably stood no chance of getting with Joe again but she didn't want to lose her best friend.
"You and Wilmer aren't fighting are you?" Demi questioned Joe shaking his head.
"He just said a couple of things and I answered, he doesn't understand why I can have you but I'm waiting." Joe shrugged his shoulders.
"I just don't want the two of you to fight until we find out who the dad is."
"That won't be a problem because I'm not planning to spend any time with him besides when we find out who's the baby is." Joe replied getting out of the car making his way up the path. Demi sighed getting out too following smiling when she saw Joe with the girls in his arms Elliot then running up to her who lifted him up.
"Were you a good boy for Granny?" Demi questioned Elliot nodding his head gently Demi smiling as he kissed his cheek. She continued to follow Joe into the living room where they both sat the children down on the couch so they could continue to watch their Disney film. "If mom asks the baby is yours for now." Demi whispered Joe nodded his head in agreement. They entered the kitchen seeing Dianna wiping down the side after she had made lunch.
"Hello, is everything okay?"
"Everything is okay," Demi replied going in her bag a smile on her face as she stuck the scan picture up on the fridge using a fridge magnet. Dianna looked closer a smile on her face. "We're having another baby."
"Congratulations guys, are you excited?" She looked between the two of them, Demi seemed excited but Joe not so much. It wasn't that he wasn't excited, he just didn't like the circumstances his child could be born under, not even knowing that he was the father at the beginning of the pregnancy.
"I'm fine, just not feeling well." Joe lied sitting up at the counter Demi laying her hand on his shoulder, she knew the past couple of weeks was starting to get to him a bit. She hated that she was the reason he was feeling like she did. It was a mistake and it was the one mistake she regretted more than any other.
