"I-Is he okay?" Demi stammered squeezing Joe's hand. At the moment they didn't care if they had a son or a daughter. They just wanted their baby to be okay and breathing by their self. They were happy in a way they had a boy but they just wanted to know their little boy was okay and they did mean little boy. He had always been smaller than his sisters.
"He had some fluid in his throat and nose so we cleared it and now he is breathing by himself. He only weights five pound one ounce though so he will need to be kept here until he puts on enough weight," Miranda explained to the parents giving them a smile when they both sighed of relief. "I'll bring him through with his sisters so you can meet them." She left the room Demi smiling up at Joe as he smiled back. They were more than relieved.
"You were right all along, two girls and a boy," Demi grinned. "We need to come up with a name for the little man."
"I have an idea but let's meet him first," Joe answered leaning down kissing her cheek gently. "Thanks for doing this for us, I know this wasn't intended. You raising them with me but I couldn't imagine doing this alone."
"I wouldn't let you do it alone, I fell in love with them in the time they were here so I wouldn't imagine not raising them. I know it would have been hard to give them up to you and Emily but I would have done." Joe smiled.
"The reason this happened in the first place was for me and Emily but in a way I'm glad you get to do this, I know it would have hard for you to give your own children up. It would have been better if we could have used Emily's eggs but these are your babies and you would have had to give them up." Joe replied squeezing her hand.
"I would have done it for you though."
"I know you would have done and that is why your amazing." Demi giggled gently laying her head down on the pillow ready to meet her children.
Joe let go of Demi's hand allowing the Miranda to lay Evie down in his arms Elsie laying in his other. Demi gently took their son in her arms Miranda not wanting her to have two babies in her arms. She could be strained too much after having a c-section. They both smiled down at their children feeling the tears burning their eyes.
"I'll leave you to get bonded for ten minutes then we should try feeding." Joe or Demi didn't say anything to her as she left, they just stared down at their children.
"Hey baby girl," Joe whispered as he admired Elsie her eyes now open but her sister remained asleep in her father's arms. "She has your eyes, how the little guy?"
"Tiny," Demi choked letting the tears fall from her eyes. Joe smiled leaning over kissing her head before staring down at his son. He found it amazing that they were the same babies that we implanted into Demi, that they didn't even conceive them in the 'old fashioned' way. That they were the same babies that would kick inside their mother only calming down when their father placed his hands on Demi's bump but he was glad they were here. "Weren't you a surprise, we just need to give you a super awesome name."
"I was thinking Elliot, sounds a bit like Ellie don't you think?" Joe questioned a smile coming to Demi's lips as she heard the name.
"Elliot William Jonas," Demi grinned slightly then looking up at Joe. "I love it." Joe looked back at her gazing into her eyes again. He leaned down pressing his lips against hers gently Demi kissed back the kiss not lasting much longer than that before Joe pulled away pecking her lips one last time before their eyes were back on their children.
He was ready.
