"I'm sorry mom." Joe mumbled as she let him into the house. She passed him a towel which he used to dry his hair. He had no option but to go home to his parent's house, he would go see Demi tomorrow and talk this out but he couldn't kick her out the house. It's where their kids grew up and they needed the three bedroom house more than he did.

"You know you'll always have a bed here Joe but what's going on?" Denise questioned as they entered the living room Joe greeting his father as they took a seat.

"I don't know, we've been fighting a lot over the past couple of weeks because she just tries to make a fight out of a stupid thing then today I demanded that she told me but she didn't so I went into work. I came home about half an hour ago and my bags were on the porch, she phoned me and broke up with me." Joe sighed running his fingers through his hair so it was neat and not messy. He still didn't understand Demi but he was tired of trying to.

"Sounds like she needs you more now." Paul answered.

"I know but she won't let me in, she just keeps pushing me away and I don't know what to do anymore." Joe mumbled leaning back on the couch.

"I presume you're not proposing now?" Joe shook his head gently.

"I love her, I want to marry her but not when she is hiding something from me. I miss the kids already." Joe mumbled leaning his head on his mother's shoulder smiling as she kissed his forehead. He loved his parents more than anything, they were the people he looked up to and knew would love him back no matter what he had done.

"Just give her some time to think and some time for yourself then go speak to her, maybe you just need some time alone." Paul suggested.

"And you can have your room for as long as you need." Denise added Joe thanking them both before he got up lugging his bags up the stairs.

Demi pulled the covers up Elliot who was already fast asleep kissing his head gently. She made sure the girls were all tucked in and happy with their stuffed animals. She said goodnight to them both in the doorway looking over at Elsie when she heard her call her name.

"No singing tonight?" Demi shook her head gently.

"Mommy isn't feeling very well, I'm going to bed now too so come into my room if you need me." Demi was about to switch the light off when Evie spoke.

"When is daddy coming to say night?" Demi sighed.

"He's not baby girl, you'll see him soon." Demi answered switching the light off this time making sure the night light was on for Elliot, he was the more sensitive one of the triplets. He needed time to become confident. She made her way into her bedroom making sure the door was open in case any of the children needed her. She stripped from her clothes covering her cold naked body with a pair of pyjamas. She buried herself under the covers her back facing the door but facing the side of the bed where Joe should be sleeping. She wanted him here, to hold in his arms like he usually did, to mess around with before they went to sleep but the guilt of being with another man just once was eating her alive and she couldn't look him in the eyes. Joe was right, something was wrong but she didn't want to hurt him. He was her best friend and it was killing her that she had to kick him out just because she found it hard to look at him. She let the tears fall from her eyes as she remembered what everything was like before that night. She wanted that back, she wanted Joe here with her and the kids. It wasn't the same without him. She begun to remember what it was like before she even had Joe, how much she actually wanted him to hold her like he did Emily.

She had wanted to be with him so much but now she might have just ruined her chances of ever having him in her life again.
