Joe led Demi through into the restaurant that they had been to a lot over the years, they started going here as teenagers. It wasn't a expensive place but Joe didn't want to propose in a expensive place, he wanted to propose in a place that was special to them and had some meaning to it. Being away from Demi for so long had made him realise how much he truly did love and care for her. He was sure she was the girl he wanted to marry. They had been best friends since five and had been through so much together, she helped him at his darkest times like when Emily died. He wouldn't have been able to get over that if it wasn't for Demi.
"Why are we celebrating this baby alone? Surely we should be invited everyone else too." Demi stated as they were seated and handed a menu.
"Because everyone already thinks I'm the father and don't you think it's about time we get some time to ourselves after raising three wacky kids?" Demi giggled nodding her head.
"I guess so," Demi answered running her eyes over the menu, she thought she knew what was going on or hoped that Joe would ask her out again so they could be a couple. She wasn't expecting the proposal he had lined up. "I think we should be hoping for a boy, we'll never hear the end of it from Elliot if it's not." Joe laughed.
"If we have a girl we'll get the kids a dog, if not we can just get one anyway."Demi laughed this time as the waitress came back to take their order then taking the menu back.
"I think a little boy would be nice, two of each but after this baby that's it! I don't want anymore." Joe smiled nudging her under the table. He was growing nervous.
"Well my mom had four kids so that seems like a reasonable number to me," Joe shrugged his shoulders knowing that Demi could start to see him getting nervous. "Can I ask you something before our meals come?" He got in before Demi could speak.
"Sure anything." Demi answered a small smile on her face but it was soon washed away when she watched Joe get down on one knee. She felt her eyes build up with tears as Joe brought out a box opening it up seeing a ring gleaming up at her.
"Demi we've been the best of friends since we were five and although you were stupid and didn't tell me you had a crush on me until I finally figured it out myself aged twenty one after being stupid too. You've helped me through so much and I hope I've done the same, we've got three beautiful children at home and another on the way, I can't deny how madly in love I am with you even after everything that has happened. Will you Demetria Devonne Lovato do the honours of marrying me?" Joe expressed Demi staring down at him seeing the hope in his eyes that she would say yes. She wiped away a couple of tears before opening her mouth.
"Yes Joe." She choked through her tears smiling as did Joe as he got up Demi standing up too. The whole restaurant exploded with cheers as Joe took the ring out the box sliding it on Demi's finger. He then crashed his lips onto hers Demi not hesitating to kiss him back her arms wrapping around his neck , he pulled away embracing her into a hug as the tears fell down both their cheeks.
Once the restaurant settled down and so did Joe and Demi they had got their meals and now eating slowly enjoying the time they were spending alone together.
"Are you sure you want to marry me after everything?" Demi questioned biting her lip as she looked up at him. She had cheated on him.
"I trust you enough not to cheat again Demi, you seem to have regret it and now I spend less time at work anyway. I still paid enough to get by." Joe explains.
"I just want you to make sure before committing yourself to this but I promise Joe I'll stay committed to you." Joe smiled leaning over pecking her lips.
"I already said I trust you!" He exclaimed Demi giggling but couldn't help but gaze down at her ring. It was beautiful. Joe knew her so well.
