Joe woke up because of the sun shining through a slight gap in the curtains. He let a groan escape his mouth as he moved his head but soon opened his eyes when he heard babbling smiling when he saw Evie laid back on the bed babbling as if she was talking to herself. Joe kissed her head gently rolling on his side so he could see her stroking the small amount of hair on the top of her head, she had the most hair of the three babies.
"Hey princess, do you feel better today?" Joe questioned fully aware he wouldn't get an answer. He felt a lot better himself with having a decent night's sleep. Evie only woke him up three or four times but went to sleep straight away. "You get to go home with us today." Joe looked towards the door smiling when he saw Demi enter pushing the stroller through the door, she was here bright and early once she heard Evie could leave as soon as they want the next morning. They just wanted all their babies home so they could settle for the day.
"How is she?" Demi questioned leaning down kissing him gently then kissing Evie's head who seemed a lot better to Demi too.
"She seems fine don't you princess." Joe cooed.
"Good, I'm fed up of hospitals," Demi grumbled as she lifted Evie up in her arms kissing her lips gently as Joe sat up on the bed before climbing off heading towards the stroller bending down so he could see in smiling when he saw Elliot was awake but Elsie asleep. "And how much sleep did you get mister?" Joe chuckled slightly as he brought out Elliot leaving Elsie alone to sleep rocking the boy gently in his arms.
"I got enough to feel better, Evie woke up four times but went straight back to sleep like I did." Joe answered kissing his son's head.
Joe carried his two girls in his arm following Demi who unlocked the door with her spare hand that didn't have hold of Elliot. They entered the house Demi setting the keys down on the table they had down by the bed the two of them making their way into the living room where the triplets were laid down in the crib. They had been changed at the hospital and now were sleeping, they would have some time to themselves until they woke up wanting feeding.
"And we have them all back again." Demi grinned leaning on Joe's shoulder who kissed her head gently squeezing onto his hand.
"I hope it stays that way too." Joe replied.
"I suppose that's all up to Elsie, she's been the only healthy baby at the moment." Demi stated sitting down on the couch bringing him down next to her Joe wrapping his arm around her as she snuggled into his shoulder.
"I think we'll be fine."
"Until doctors visits for injections, can't say I'm looking forward to them. I hate hearing them crying." Joe complained but Demi couldn't help but smile. He was such a good dad already but she didn't expect anything less, he's always wanted to be one. She couldn't wait to see him when they were older, when he could actually do more than juts change their diaper and every so often feed them a bottle. She knew he was looking forward to that too.
"It's heartbreaking to hear as a parent but there's nothing we can do about it, I guess you get used to it." Demi answered.
"Well I think I'll go lay down and get some more sleep, will your be alright with them?" Demi nodded her head gently sitting up straight allowing him to stand up but he did lean down kissing her gently then pulling away leaving a smile on her lip."Wake me up if you need anything, I'm serious Demi." Demi giggled at the sternness in his tone."
"I will, sleep well." She watched as Joe left the room leaving her alone in the room with her three babies, it relieved her that she could hear all of them breathing.
