Joe couldn't help but grin as he left the house again making sure the door was shut behind him but his grin left his face when he thought of Emily. He groaned throwing his head back but soon got into his car deciding where he should go, stay here to be with Demi or go home to Emily. He sat in his car for a couple of minutes before turning the key and driving off.
Joe got out his car shutting the door and locking it behind him. He made his way up the path letting himself in. He could smell the familiar aroma of his mother's recipes, he needed advice. He called out that he was here before making his way into the kitchen seeing his older brother washing up Danielle stood at the side of him drying up.
"Hey Joe, what's up?" Kevin questioned taking the tea towel from his wife drying his hands before sticking the kettle on to make them some drinks.
"I need some advice." He stated the two of them looking over at Danielle.
"I get it, I'll leave." She giggled kissing Kevin's cheek before leaving the kitchen making her way upstairs to change into something else.
"Did you know Demi likes me?" Joe questioned Kevin not helping but laugh.
"You finally know?" Kevin questioned rhetorically shaking his head gently. "Joe can you remember when you were eleven and I had just broken up with Jess? You came to me about advice because a girl likes you but you didn't like her?"
"Yeah, wait you mean Demi has liked me since we were eleven?" Kevin sighed shaking his head gently, he was glad Joe knew he could still come to him for advice just because they've both moved out and starting their lives out together with a woman.
"Joe she's had a crush on you since kindergarten, you've just been too blind to notice. Everybody knew but you, when you came to me for advice when you were eleven I thought you were talking about Demi." Kevin revealed.
"But she's my best friend and I'm already getting married." Joe urged.
"Which is why you need to carry on your life like normal, you care about Emily right?" Joe nodded his head gently. "And you love her so you need to carry on your life like you never found out. It will be better for both of you." Joe sighed.
"I just can't believe all this time Demi has liked me and she never said, maybe we could have tried a relationship out before I even started dating Emily." Joe grumbled.
"I know it's a lot to take in but you're getting married in a month and believe me it's the best feeling in the world. Demi may have a crush on you but you love Emily and Demi has coped with her crush since she was young, she can carry on." Kevin answered.
"And that it why she's carrying the babies for us, gosh I'm so stupid!" Joe hit himself on the head Kevin laughing at him but laid his hand on his arm.
"It's okay Joe, Demi has everything under control."
"I have to tell her I know." He demanded standing up but Kevin soon dragged him down again on his seat before he could run off.
"No Joe, it isn't the right time. You need to concentrate on your life with Emily because that's the path you chose. Your Demi's best friend and that has to be better than nothing." Joe sighed again laying his head down on his hands.
"I just can't believe it." He muttered.
Joe knew Kevin was right, he couldn't just stop what he had with Emily and what he had shared for the past nearly seven years just because another girl liked him but to Joe Demi just wasn't another girl. She was his best friend and he cared about her a lot. He just didn't know if he liked her in that way, he loved Emily and was looking forward to starting a life out with her.
