"Since when did my Joey have facial hair?" Demi grinned leaning up patting his cheeks gently. Joe laughed pushing her hands away bringing her into a hug. Demi smiled hugging him back laying her head down on his chest. She was surprised to feel his strong arms, he worked out and she could tell. He had grown up so much since they were eighteen. "How have you been?" They pulled away from each other Joe grabbing her hand bringing her into the hall so she wasn't cold.

"Yeah I've been good, why have you moved back?" Joe questioned.

"My Gran died and I didn't have anyone over there, I plan to open my own day care here so I can be around mom and dad." Demi explained.

"I'm um sorry about the day you left, I slept through my alarm..." Joe begun but Demi cut him off before he could carry on.

"Joe that is all in the past, I don't care now," She begun Joe nodding his head gently. "Sorry it's so late, mom and dad said you were a chef so I had no idea what time you finished work."

"It's okay, I just got back but we can catch up tomorrow if you'd like?" Joe suggested Demi nodding her head gently kissing his cheek.

"See you tomorrow." Joe saw Demi out before wondering back into the living room sitting down next to Emily who watched his every step as he did.

"Who was it?" She questioned not able to make out who the other voice was or what they were saying but Joe had a smile on his face so she guessed that it was someone who he cared about. He did care about Demi still and a lot.

"It was Demi, she's back in town." Joe answered wrapping his arm around her kissing the side of her head gently.

"Oh is she okay?" Joe nodded his head gently.

"She looked well." Joe approved.

Joe and Demi met up at Starbucks the next morning Joe having gone to bed early so he didn't spend most of the morning in bed like he usually did. They were walking around the streets now with their coffees, it was autumn so it was a little cold but not too cold that they couldn't stand it. They were enjoying having each other around.

"Emily wanted a winter wedding so the date is set for Christmas eve. We've been engaged for over a year, closer to two before December." Joe explained after Demi had asked the question.

"I bet it's going to look beautiful." Demi praised.

"That's the plan, I was going to try and contact you to see if you wanted to come but you clearly didn't want to know me." Joe shrugged his shoulders Demi sighing.

"I just needed some space Joe and now I think about it I feel better for it. I think we just got to used to each other in a way." Demi explained, she didn't like him in that way anymore. She didn't feel no attraction towards him but it was nowhere near as strong as it used to be. She was happy for him and Emily, getting as far in their relationship as they had. It had been six years now that they had been together and most high school couples don't make it past high school.

"I guess I can see your point," Joe begun. "I have a day off work on Tuesday, you want to hang out?" Demi couldn't help but laugh.

"We're not teenagers anymore Joe," She nudged him making him chuckle. "But yeah that sounds good, what time?"

"I have a hospital appointment in the morning but I'm free after lunch."

"Why are you going to the hospital?" She questioned.

"We've been trying for a baby for a while now and haven't managed to get there so we're having some tests done." Joe explained Demi nodding her head gently. They were grownups now and in the world of work and family life.
