"Thanks for letting me copy your homework earlier, you're a lifesaver." Joe praised wrapping his arm around his best friend Demi smiling laying her head down on her shoulder. She knew it wasn't good for her crush, she was amazed she still had it after all these years, she hoped it would go away but it hadn't even if he had been dating Emily for a year now.

"It's not a problem, can you just get your shoes on so I can beat your ass at bowling." Demi grinned making Joe chuckle taking his arm back sitting down on the bench slipping his shoes off so he could put the bowling shoes on.

"We'll see who beats who's ass Lovato." Joe challenged.

Demi bowled a strike before turning back to Joe a smirk on her face, Joe just chuckled shaking his head at her. She had always been good at bowling, they quite often came here just the two of them but on occasion Joe had brought Emily along which Demi thought was rude, she was surprised she hadn't come along this time.

"Um how are you and Emily?" Demi questioned as she made her way back over to him taking a fry from the red basket on the table.

"We're fine, why'd you ask?" Joe answered adding in his own question.

"Just wondering if there was any differences going on, any fights." Demi shrugged her shoulders, it was a long shot because they had been together for a year now but she hoped maybe there had been a fight and break up. She knew it was bad for her to think about this because her friend's happiness was more important but she was still feeling that way.

"No well I mean we do have fights obviously because every couple does but nothing serious, I'm in love with her, I try not to fight with her." Joe stated.

"Do you really love her?" Demi questioned Joe nodding his head.

"I'm sure, I just get this weird feeling whenever I'm around her but in a good way. She makes me feel happy inside, I've never had this feeling before." Joe confessed.

"Oh." Demi mumbled.

"Don't worry Dems, your dream guy is out there somewhere and you'll meet him one day." Joe assured her before picking up a bowling ball in the correct way wondering towards the lane. Demi sighed slumping down on the chair. She was sure Joe was the guy she should be with but he didn't seem to think that. She was sure Emily was the one who was going to take him away from her for good and she didn't want that.

"Make sure you get your homework done tonight Joe, I'm not letting you copy mine tomorrow." Demi warned as they stood at the doorway of her house Joe having walked with her back to her house before he wondered back down the street to his house. Joe laughed kissing her head gently making her smile looking up at him.

"I already done all my homework, don't worry, thanks for tonight Demi I had fun. Even though I love Emily it's nice to get away from her every so often. We need space." Joe explained Demi's smile only becoming a fake one. She was always mentioned but she couldn't expect any less, she was his girlfriend and he seemed to love her.

"I had a good time too Joe, I'll um see you tomorrow at school." Demi leaned up kissing his cheek gently before she entered her house waving at her best friend before the door closed. Joe wondered back down the path and towards his house. Demi had been acting strange over the past couple of weeks but he couldn't understand what was going on, he loved his best friend and wanted to be there for her if she was feeling down or a bit under the weather. Demi had always been a complication person to get on with which is why she didn't have many friends, he understood her which is why he was one of her only friends.
