"We're going to take them all away and assess them especially you last daughter while we get you stitched back up and settled in your room." One of the midwifes stated but the parents didn't have anything to say to her. Demi could feel the surgeon begin to stitch her back up as Joe squeezed her hand tight tears falling down both their cheeks.

"I knew something was wrong with her." Demi whispered.

"I-I'm sorry." Joe choked but Demi just squeezed his hand to tell him that it was okay, he couldn't have known, he was just trusting the professionals. She knew ages ago that there must be complications just because she was so much smaller than her sisters.

Once the surgeon was sure that Demi was all okay she was moved back to her room on the bed while Joe got changed back into his clothes. He was soon back with Demi who now had all their family but a seat next to Demi was reserved for him. Joe slumped down on the chair feeling his mother lay her hand on his leg as he ran his fingers through his hair, he was relieved that Demi was sleeping. She felt groggy after the c-section and hoped if she slept she'd get to know how her girls were sooner. She was worried about little Ellie.

"It will be okay Joe, they will all be here soon." Denise assured him wiping away his tears as they fell from his eyes. He was looking forward to raising all his girls and not just two of them but if Ellie were not to make it Evie and Elsie would all know about their little sister who wasn't strong enough to hold on. They just didn't want the baby to suffer.

"Demi was right the whole time, I should have listened to her." Joe sniffled to his mother and father, everybody else was chatting wanting to leave Joe alone to talk to his parents.

"Joe if Ellie is anything like you and Demi she'll make it, she'll be a strong girl and will want to meet her parents." Paul assured him rubbing his back.

"I-I just don't want to think about a future without all my girls." He mumbled but all he could imagine was walking into the nursery they had already set up seeing three cribs but only two babies. He had already lost Emily, he didn't want t lose Ellie too.

"She is in the right place, Joe, the doctors will do everything they can to make sure she takes her first breath and actually let out a cry." Denise answered Joe nodding his head as he sat up straight wiping away his tears with his hands. He knew if Ellie didn't make it through this then he'd have all the support in the world., it was the only way he had gotten through Emily dying otherwise he didn't know where he'd be at now.

"It's been two hours Joe," Demi mumbled now awake holding onto Joe's hand. They hadn't even heard anything about their two girls that did cry when they came out. They haven't got to touch or hold them, just see their faces but they didn't even get that with Ellie, she was rushed off straight away. They knew she was in the right hands but they were thinking the worst. It had been so long without them hearing anything. "Go to sleep Joe, it's been a long day for you too."

"Not until I know how the girls are." He demanded rubbing his eyes gently then taking her hand back. They were bored of waiting.

"It feels weird without them in here." Demi stated looking down at her slightly flat stomach as Joe squeezed her hand gently. They both looked towards the door when it opened and Miranda entered. Without the babies .

"How are they?" Demi questioned not able to wait anymore.

"Baby A and B are fine but there's something you could know about Baby C." She explained as she approached them a little bit standing at the end of the bed.

"What is it?" Joe inquired.

"Baby C isn't a girl, you have a son." She revealed.
