It was about two months later after the death of Emily and her father. The two families had been together and helped each other through the sad time Joe making sure that he still went to see Emily's mother and make sure that she was coping well with losing her youngest daughter and husband. Joe had kept his mind busy over the time, he still had a couple of bad days here and there but the thoughts that pained him two months ago to think of were slowly turning into memories. The old Joe had come back a little bit Demi being by his side the whole time. She was now twenty one weeks pregnant, they were still keeping all three babies deciding that Demi would be a mother to them Joe raising them with her. Her dream of running her own day care centre was put on hold a little bit longer while she adjusted to being a mother and her three babies were a little older.
"Joe!" Demi wined laying her hand on her bump which was large, she was carrying three babies and had been big for a couple of weeks now. Joe rushed in sighing as he sat down next to her laying his hands on her bump.
"Is it painful again?" He questioned Demi nodding her head as they slowly settled down, they seemed to know Joe was their father and would calm down when he laid his hands down on her bump. He found it amazing that they even know he was their father.
"I-I can still only feel two feet though." Demi stammered worried about her third baby, baby C who was smaller than his or hers siblings still and didn't appear to move around much.
"The midwife said he or she is right at the back so they probably can't get in because of the other two babies. You might only be feeling one baby kick with both their legs." Joe stated.
"Don't make me think that!" Demi exclaimed slapping him.
"Sorry Dems, our appointment is later maybe they will help us out." Joe stated Demi nodding her head as he took his hands of her again.
"Are we still knowing the genders?" Demi questioned.
"I always said I'd like it to be a surprise but I think with there being three of them we should probably know, it will give them time for us to prepare for them and know what we need to get." Joe stated Demi nodding her head in agreement.
"I still think it's three girls, they are all daddy's girls already." Demi grinned slightly but pulled a painful face.
"What's wrong?" Joe questioned worried.
"They're trying to get comfortable." Joe chuckled kissing her forehead.
"We should probably get ready, you want help up the stairs?" Joe questioned Demi letting a groan escape her lips.
"I only just got comfortable, can't I go like this?" Demi questioned Joe laughing again.
"I'm afraid not." Joe got up helping Demi up on her feet too.
Joe helped Demi back into the car Demi leaning back against the seat letting a groan escape her lips. She underestimated how much she would ache when she was earlier on. She watched as Joe got into the driver's side adjusting the seat and the mirror before starting the car and pulling onto the street after looking for oncoming traffic.
"So are you really predicting three girls?" Joe questioned looking at her before his eyes were back on the road not wanting to crash.
"I think so yeah," Demi answered caressing her bump looking over at him. "What about you? What do you think we're having?"
"Um two girls and a boy," Joe began. "But it's a complete guess, I honestly have no idea." Demi smiled slightly her eyes on the road now too.
"I know we're not a couple but I'm glad we're doing this together." Joe smiled too.
"I'm glad we are too, I just never imagined I'd be having babies with my best friend." Demi giggled as they continued their car ride in a comfortable silence. They just prayed that all three of their babies were okay and there weren't any complications.
