Thirty Four

Joe entered the bedroom he shared with Emily smiling when he saw her already fast asleep the laptop at the end of the bed their folder on her lap that they have put all the wedding plans in. He shut the laptop lid setting it on the desk where Emily sometimes graded work for school moving the folder on top before pulling the covers up her body. He kissed her head gently before making his way into the bathroom. It felt weird for him to know that his best friend had liked him for so long but hadn't told him but he couldn't leave Emily now, he loved her and was sure she was the girl he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

Emily entered the kitchen showered and dressed ready for work the next morning. She smiled when she saw Joe at the stove cooking a pancake for himself a bowl of fruit and yogurt already on the side for her. She leaned up kissing him gently before taking a seat up on the bar stool beginning to eat the breakfast her soon to be husband had made for her.

"Where were you last night? We were meant to be doing last minute plans." Emily questioned as Joe sat down next to her with his pancakes.

"I left work early cause Demi was having bad morning sickness then I went to Kevin's for some advice, sorry. I'll be here when you get home from work so we can spend that hour planning." Joe answered kissing the side of her head.

"It's okay, did you ask Demi if she would come over?" Joe nodded his head.

"Well I asked Dianna and Eddie if they would ask her so she might be here if she's feeling up to it. Seems like the morning sickness is affecting her quite bad." Joe couldn't help but sigh, he didn't like seeing Demi like she was last night. He liked seeing the bubbly and loud girl, it hurt him that she was even having doubts that she can do this and give birth.

"Hopefully she'll be around then," Emily stated. "It's a month today you know." Joe smiled leaning down kissing her gently before pulling away.

"I know and I can't wait to make you Mrs. Jonas." He grinned.

Demi woke up groaning when she felt her mouth dry and had a horrible sicky taste in her mouth. She smiled when she saw a glass of water on the side taking a gulp from it before picking up the note that was on the side next to it.

"Feel better! Love Joe xx' She smiled wider taking another drink from the glass then getting out of bed. She stayed in her pyjamas as she made her way downstairs with the glass in her hand. She entered the kitchen where her mother was peeling potatoes for dinner tonight setting them down in a bowl of cold water to keep from going brown.

"Morning baby girl, do you feel better?" Dianna questioned as Demi poured the remaining water down the sink setting the glass on the side.

"A little bit, I'm gonna try eating something but I don't know if I'll keep it down." Demi answered pouring a bowl of cereal which would be light on her stomach. She dampened the cereal with milk before sitting up at the counter laying one hand down on her slowly forming bump, she wasn't very big but bigger than a normal woman at eight weeks with there being three babies. She could get away without people knowing she was pregnant if she wore even a slightly baggy shirt.

"Joe wanted to know if you could go over and help Emily with something to do with the wedding when she's back from work?" Dianna inquired.

"I'm only a brides maid, not maid of honour." Demi complained, Joe had begged Emily to make Demi a brides maid, she was special to him.

"Just go Demi, you don't want them to think you're trying to avoid them." Dianna encouraged kissing her head gently as she sighed. She just found it hard to believe her best friend was getting married when she had barely even experienced having a boyfriend.
