It had been two weeks since Demi had the IFV treatment and she had spent a lot of her time with Joe and Emily, it was nice to get to know Emily now that she was a changed person. She even admits how much she had changed since she was a teenager. She was a more confident person and hoped to gain more friends by having changed. Today was the day she would be trying a test to see if it had come through whether she was pregnant or not but all three of them knew that it was still early days so were preparing for a negative test. Emily entered the living room dumping her bag full of work on the floor next to the couch to do it later.

"Did you pick a test up?" Joe questioned.

"No I thought I'd come without one," Emily teased shaking her head as Demi giggled. "Of course I have a test." She took it out the bag handing it to Demi.

"I just want both of you to not get your hopes up too much, this is a lot of pressure on me and I'm nervous enough without you two being hopeful." Demi warned.

"We understand Dems, it's still early as well so if it's negative you can just take on again in a couple of days." Demi sighed nodding her head. She gave them both a hug before she made her way to their downstairs bathroom. She followed the instructions on the back making sure she followed them exactly not wanting to force a false result. She set the test down in the sink shutting the lid on the toilet taking a seat waiting for her phone to buzz. She had to remember how to breathe the more time passed by, it was nerve racking to see.

Joe set a cup of coffee down on the table next to Emily, they were trying to keep themselves busy as time passed by. It was just as nerve racking for them if not a little bit more, they have wanted this for over a year now, having been trying none stop for the whole time. But they understood how Demi must be feeling knowing that they were completely relaying on her for this to work. Just so they could bring a baby home in nine months.

"This is the worst wait of my life." Emily mumbled.

"But hopefully the wait will be worth it." Joe answered kissing her gently before switching the TV on so they could concentrate on something else and not the fact that Demi was taking a test right now to see if they were having a baby.

"I still feel for her though, I don't know if I would be able to have a baby and then give it another couple." Emily stated.

"I know it must be hard for women to do that but I think it will be different for Demi, I think she knows that she will be involved with the baby still." Joe replied.

"But still her son or daughter will call me mommy and not her, could you imagine your son or daughter calling another man daddy? At least if she wasn't somebody we knew she wouldn't be around the baby as much."

"I guess I never thought about it that way." He admitted.

"There's no point us feeling this way now because it could have already worked, I just feel for her." Emily shrugged her shoulders. They stayed silent their eyes glued onto the telly but they weren't focused on what was on. Their eyes moved from the TV to the door when they heard the door open, Demi wondered through crying gently but they couldn't tell whether they were happy or sad tears. She wondered over taking her seat back, they remained quiet not wanting Demi to rush into something. Demi took in a deep breath before nodding her head.

"I'm pregnant." She revealed.

"Really?" Joe breathed Demi nodding her head smiling as they both hugged her emotions rising high in the house. She couldn't believe that she was pregnant and carrying a baby that wasn't even recognisable yet. It was really hitting home that she wouldn't be taking this baby home with her but she was till sure she wanted to do this. For her best friend and the girl he had been with for six years.
