Years had flown by and soon Joe and Demi were eleven years old, they had just had their birthdays before they would be starting Middle school. Joe and Demi had become best friends, they were really close from the first day they met and that made their parents become friends as well. They thought it was adorable how close they were and knew maybe one day they might start a relationship up but they were still young at the moment. Demi had a crush on Joe which wasn't going away anytime soon even at the age they were. She couldn't tell him how she felt, it wasn't something she had ever done and he was her best friend.

"Mom I'm nervous." Joe grumbled allowing his mother to smooth out some of his hair.

"You'll be fine sweetie, it's just a new school." Denise encouraged.

"But there will be new kids there too and they might bully Demi." Denise sighed sitting Joe down on the couch sitting next to him.

"Bullying is something that happens to most children and as for Demi I know she has struggled with it for a while but all you can do is be there for her. Your her best friend and all she wants is someone to be there for her." Denise stated Joe nodding his head.

"I'll always be there for Demi, I don't care what the other kids think." Joe beamed a smile making Denise smile too kissing his forehead.

"My baby is growing up." Denise cooed making Joe groan.

"I'm eleven mom, not a baby." Joe accused making her laugh.

"Even when your forty you'll be my baby." Denise answered giving him a hug as he hugged her, he was such a momma's boy but still enjoyed spending time with his father. He was the one who was teaching him how to play a couple of instruments, it was something Joe enjoyed to do but he still liked to cook with his mother.

"I love you mom." Denise smiled pulling away kissing his cheek gently.

"I love you too Joe, you better go meet Demi so you can catch the bus," Denise stated Joe getting up grabbing his bag, Denise kissed him one last time before he left. "Have a good day!" Denise called after him smiling as he disappeared.

"Hi Joey." Demi greeted as Joe wondered over to the bus stop with her. He didn't like the name Joey but he only let Demi call him it. Demi was a special person to him and she couldn't do wrong in his eyes. Joe smiled giving her a hug Demi hugging back before they pulled away standing at the front of the queue for the bus.

"My mom made brownies for my lunch, you want to split?" Joe inquired.

"Sure." Demi smiled the two of them climbing on the bus when it pulled up. They took a seat together at the back of the bus away from everyone. Demi had always had problems with bullying resulting in Joe getting bullied too but he didn't care, he would be there for Demi and help her but he knew now they might not have all the same classes and it might be different now.

"Soon enough we'll be seniors." Joe grinned making Demi giggle.

"Joe we have ages until high school, it's only the first day of middle school." Demi stated making Joe laugh slightly.

"I know but don't you like the idea of growing up already, then we can work and have our own families." Joe replied.

"Alright for you, Casey Harrison has had a crush on you since kindergarten!" Demi laughed as a blush came to Joe's cheek, he nudged her.

"I don't like her, it's just hard to believe somebody has a crush on me. We're only eleven!"

"You wanna bet." Demi mumbled looking out the window.

"What?" Joe inquired Demi shaking her head gently.

"Nothing." She assured him Joe dropping it not wanting to push her.
