Four

Joe and Demi entered the middle school they would be attending for the next couple of years of their lives. They had been a couple of times before for introduction but hadn't had any lessons. They followed the class into a room which they were being led by the teacher. They were instructed to take a seat anywhere Joe and Demi taking the opportunity to sit together at the front. The classroom looked how you would expect a classroom, posters around helping students out if they got stuck. There were about fifteen desks but they were made so there was a seat for two at a table, there wasn't thirty kids but that's what the school catered for. There was windows along the side showing into the playground and right in front of them was the teacher's desk in front of a white board where most of the learning would take place. Their teacher was young around the age of twenty five, she had long blonde hair which was tied back. She had only a little bit of make up on which looked natural and matched the smart trousers and flowery blouse she was wearing. She had a smile on her face as she watched the class settle down.

"Alright class my name is Miss Daniels and I will be your teacher for this year, you will get on with me well unless you are naughty then we will fall out. This is a warning to you all, I don't do bad behaviour, I do learning so if you are here for fun then leave now," Everyone looked around at each other but nobody moved. "Alright then in front of you you'll see a red book can you write on that, it will be you English book." They all paid attention as Miss Daniels taught them telling them instructions following them.

It was soon recess all the children allowed outside all been demanded not to leave a child out so nobody was alone. Joe and Demi had each other. They took their water bottles with them sitting on a bench which was near the climbing frame but Demi didn't like climbing since she fell off and broke her arm when she was eight and Joe wanted to stay with her.

"Our teacher is nice don't you think?" Joe questioned taking a sip of her water.

"Yes she is really nice, better than Mister Jacobs." The two of them laughing only stopping when they saw someone approach them. Demi couldn't help but roll her eyes when she saw Emily stood there. Joe's admirer since kindergarten.

"Hi Emily." Joe greeted fully aware that she had a crush on him.

"Hi Joe, I drew this picture for you." She stated holding her hand out for him to take it, Joe sighed nodding his head taking the picture from her seeing it was the two of them together but it was a good drawing to say she was only eleven. She had a talent.

"Thanks, I'll stick it up in my bedroom." Demi held back a laugh as she saw Emily blush acting all shy around Joe.

"My mom said I could invite someone over for dinner, would you like to come?" She inquired Joe shaking his head gently.

"Sorry I can't, my parents are taking us out for dinner tonight but maybe some other time." Joe spoke trying to ignore the fact that Demi was holding back a laugh.

"Oh okay, I'll talk to you later." She mumbled before wondering off making Demi burst out laughing Joe only nudging her telling her to shut up.

"You should have said yes! I bet that would have been a great date!" Demi exclaimed Joe only rolling his eyes at her taking another sip of his water.

"I don't like her, I don't you that before." Joe insisted.

"Are your parents really taking you out tonight?" Demi questioned Joe shaking his head.

"Nope." The two of them laughed as they begun a conversation, they had always been close but they could feel themselves getting closer even with Emily watching them from a distance desperate to get Joe to notice her.
