Summary: Lola found Raven but in the hands of Bellatrix near the edge of the cliff.
Lola’s heart stopped.
There, near the edge of a dangerously high cliff, stood Bellatrix Lestrange—her wild, dark eyes gleaming with twisted delight as she held Raven in her grasp.
Raven’s small body trembled, her tear-streaked face buried against Bellatrix’s arm. Her little fingers clawed at the woman’s grip, but Bellatrix held her tightly, a wand pressed under the child’s chin.
Lola felt her entire world shatter.
“LET HER GO!” she screamed, her own wand drawn, shaking with fury.
Mattheo and Draco skidded to a stop beside her, their eyes widening in horror at the scene in front of them. Narcissa gasped, her hand flying to her mouth, while Lucius went pale as death.
Bellatrix simply let out a low, amused laugh.
“My, my… isn’t this a precious little family reunion?” she cooed, her voice dripping with mockery. She tilted her head, her fingers curling in Raven’s hair. “This little thing… belongs to you, doesn’t she, dear niece?”
Lola felt rage unlike anything she had ever known.
Bellatrix was too close to the edge.
One wrong move, and Raven—
Lola’s grip on her wand tightened, but she couldn’t risk startling her deranged aunt.
“Give her to me,” Lola said, forcing her voice to stay deadly calm, though her entire body was shaking.
Bellatrix smirked, her grip on Raven tightening. “Oh, but she’s so precious, Lola. A Malfoy child raised by a… Riddle,” she sneered, her eyes flicking briefly to Mattheo, who visibly stiffened. “It’s almost poetic, don’t you think? A child doomed from the start.”
At that, Raven whimpered, tears spilling down her cheeks.
Lola felt her rage snap into something lethal.
Draco took a step forward, his wand steady. “Bellatrix, if you don’t let her go, I swear—”
Bellatrix tilted her head, grinning. “You’ll what, Drakie? Hex me? Curse me?” She let out a wild laugh. “Oh, you Malfoys—always so predictable.”
And then—
She took a step closer to the edge.
Lola’s blood turned to ice.
Raven let out a small, terrified cry, clinging to Bellatrix’s sleeve.
Lola knew she had seconds to act.
She met Draco’s eyes. Now.
A flash of silent understanding passed between them.
Draco moved first—raising his wand dramatically, making it seem like he was about to cast a curse. Bellatrix’s attention snapped to him, her grip loosening for a fraction of a second.
And that was all Lola needed.
With blinding speed, she flicked her wrist—wordless magic bursting from her wand.
A powerful shockwave knocked Bellatrix backward—her hold on Raven slipping.
Raven screamed—her small body falling toward the cliff’s edge.
Lola lunged forward, her entire world slowing to a heartbeat’s pace.
She caught Raven mid-air, her arms wrapping tightly around her daughter as she fell onto the ground—shielding her completely.
Bellatrix stumbled back, barely catching herself before she could fall over the edge. Her expression twisted into pure rage.
Before she could react, Draco’s wand slashed through the air.
“Bombarda!”
A violent explosion sent Bellatrix flying backward, her body disappearing into the shadows of the forest.
Everything went silent.
Lola clutched Raven tightly, her breath ragged, her heart slamming against her ribs.
Mattheo dropped to his knees beside them, his hands shaking as he touched Raven’s face, his eyes filled with pure agony and relief.
Raven was sobbing uncontrollably, her little arms wrapped around Lola’s neck, refusing to let go.
“Mummy,” she whimpered. “I—I was so scared.”
Lola pressed her face against Raven’s hair, her own tears spilling as she rocked her daughter gently. “I know, baby. I know. You’re safe now. You’re safe.”
Mattheo pressed a shaky kiss to Raven’s forehead, whispering over and over, “I’m so sorry, princess. I love you. I love you so much.”
Draco, standing above them, exhaled sharply, his wand still clenched tightly in his fist.
Narcissa let out a soft sob, covering her mouth, while Lucius simply stared—for once, completely speechless.
Lola lifted her head, her tear-filled eyes locking onto Mattheo’s.
“I almost lost her,” she whispered, her voice broken.
Mattheo cupped her face, his forehead pressing against hers. “You didn’t,” he murmured. “We didn’t.”
Raven’s small hand gripped both of their robes, pulling them closer.
Lola and Mattheo held onto her as if they’d never let go again.
