Summary: Raven never got her invitation to Hogwarts even though she's up to age and she's pure blood.

It was a normal morning at Malfoy Manor, the sun streaming through the grand windows of the living room as Raven sat at the table, eating her breakfast. Her hands fidgeted with the edge of her napkin, her brow furrowed in thought. There was something that had been bothering her for a few days now—something she couldn’t quite shake.

She had been waiting for her Hogwarts letter. It was that time of year. Her friends, the kids she grew up with, were all eagerly anticipating their invitations to join the new school year. But Raven? She had heard nothing.

Her parents had already received their letters in the post—Lola had even shown her the letter addressed to Draco with his name on it, as if they were somehow waiting for an announcement. But when Raven's own owl had come, there was nothing.

She shifted uncomfortably in her seat, glancing around the room. Her parents were busy with Raven’s younger sibling, and she didn’t want to worry them unnecessarily. She had been certain, though—she was of age and pure-blooded. There was no reason why she shouldn’t have gotten the letter.

But when the days kept passing and there was no sign of it—no official parchment, no owl—Raven felt a growing sense of unease.

Later that morning, as she was walking through the grand hallway, she spotted Draco in the study, his eyes fixed on some papers he was reviewing. Normally, she would have gone straight to her mother, but something told her that Draco might understand better, especially when it came to Hogwarts. She hesitated at the doorway, trying to steady her nerves before speaking.

“Uncle Draco?”

Draco looked up, his expression softening when he saw her standing there. “What is it, Raven?”

“Um…” Raven bit her lip nervously. “I haven’t gotten my Hogwarts letter.”

Draco blinked in surprise, raising an eyebrow. “What do you mean? You’re supposed to be receiving it any day now.”

Raven shrugged. “I’ve been waiting, but there’s nothing. No owl. Nothing.”

Draco stood up from his desk, his face now a mask of concern. “That’s strange.” He walked toward her, his hand resting on her shoulder. “You’re definitely of age. Pure-blood. You should have gotten your letter by now.”

Raven felt the knot in her stomach tighten. “Do you think there’s something wrong with me? Maybe they forgot about me… or maybe I don’t even deserve to go to Hogwarts.”

Draco frowned, crouching down to meet her eye level. “Raven, that’s nonsense. You absolutely deserve to go to Hogwarts. You’re more than ready. There must be some kind of mistake. Let’s sort this out together.”

Raven nodded, trying to push the anxious thoughts aside. Draco, sensing her distress, placed his hand firmly on her back, guiding her to a seat in the study. He then flicked his wand, and a moment later, an owl flew in through the window and landed on Draco’s desk.

He quickly wrote out a letter, his brows furrowing as he sealed the parchment. “I’m sending an owl to Hogwarts immediately,” Draco said. “Let’s get to the bottom of this.”

Raven watched him with a mix of relief and uncertainty. She knew Draco was doing his best, but the nagging feeling that she might have been forgotten or overlooked lingered.

Minutes passed, and the tension in the air thickened. Draco kept his eyes on the clock, waiting for a response. Finally, just as the evening sky began to darken, the owl returned.

Draco opened the letter swiftly, his eyes scanning the contents. As he read, Raven’s breath hitched.

“Well?” she asked impatiently.

Draco’s face remained unreadable for a moment, and then his lips twitched into a slight smile. “It seems there’s been a mistake at Hogwarts.”

Raven’s heart skipped. “A mistake?”

“Yes,” Draco continued, holding up the letter. “They’ve been sending out invitations late this year due to some issues with the post and a few other administrative things. You’re still on the list, Raven. In fact, it looks like they just sent your invitation. You should be getting it within the next day or two.”

Raven blinked, stunned, her face lighting up in relief. “So I’m actually going?”

Draco smiled and ruffled her hair. “Of course. You’ll be going to Hogwarts, just like you’ve always dreamed. And this time, I’ll make sure everything goes smoothly.”

Raven’s heart fluttered, a mixture of excitement and nerves racing through her. She had always known she was meant to go to Hogwarts—her own journey—but now it was finally happening.

“Thanks, Uncle Draco,” she said, her voice filled with gratitude.

He gave her a knowing look. “You’re welcome, kiddo. It’s about time we had another Malfoy at Hogwarts.”

Raven smiled brightly, a wave of excitement finally washing over her. Hogwarts—her Hogwarts—was just around the corner, and nothing was going to stop her now.
