Raven sat in the bathroom, her hands trembling as she clutched the tiny test in her fingers. The two lines stared back at her, clear as day.

Pregnant.

Her heart pounded in her chest, her breath coming in short gasps. She had thought about this moment for so long, imagined it, wanted it—but now that it was real, an overwhelming wave of fear crashed over her.

She felt sick.

She didn’t know how long she sat there, staring at the test, until a knock sounded on the door.

“Raven?” Rose’s voice was soft, hesitant. “You’ve been in there for a while. Are you okay?”

Raven wanted to lie. She wanted to say she was fine, that she’d be out in a minute. But the words stuck in her throat. Instead, her hand moved on its own, unlocking the door.

Rose stepped inside, taking one look at Raven’s pale face before her gaze dropped to the test in her hands. Her eyes widened.

“Raven…”

Tears welled up in Raven’s eyes. “I—I made a mistake, Rose.”

Rose knelt beside her, wrapping her arms around Raven’s shaking form. “Oh, Rave…”

“I thought I was ready,” Raven whispered. “I wanted this. But now—I’m scared.”

Rose held her tighter. “We’ll figure this out. You’re not alone.”

But deep down, Raven knew this wasn’t just about figuring it out. This was real. This was forever.

And now, she had to face it.
