Summary: Lola and Mattheo lost Raven after she ran off. Raven found Harry and his friends.
The halls of Hogwarts were alive with their usual energy, but for Lola and Mattheo, that energy was laced with sheer panic.
“Where is she?!” Lola exclaimed, her voice filled with distress as she frantically turned a corner, scanning the hallways. “She was right next to me, and then—poof—gone!”
Mattheo ran a hand through his hair, his jaw tight with tension. “She’s fast, I’ll give her that,” he muttered. “We have to find her before she gets into trouble—or worse, before Filch finds her first.”
Raven, their four-year-old daughter, had inherited both her parents’ boldness and curiosity. The moment they had loosened their grip on her tiny hand, she had taken off, giggling with delight as she disappeared into the castle’s endless corridors.
Meanwhile, a few hallways away, Harry, Hermione, and Ron were making their way toward the Gryffindor common room when they heard the rapid patter of little feet.
Ron barely had time to react before a small figure barreled straight into him. “Whoa!” he exclaimed, stumbling back as he looked down.
There, gripping his leg like a tree trunk, was Raven Malfoy, her blonde curls slightly disheveled, her big eyes looking up at him with excitement.
Ron blinked. “Uh… hi?”
Raven giggled, stepping back and spinning in a circle. “I ran fast! Super-duper fast!” she declared proudly.
Harry, already amused, crouched down to her level. “I see that,” he said. “But does your mum know you ran super-duper fast away from her?”
Raven paused, putting a finger to her lips as if deep in thought. “…Maybe not.”
Hermione sighed, already piecing things together. “Oh dear. I bet Lola and Mattheo are looking everywhere for you.”
Raven beamed. “Probably!”
Ron groaned. “Great. That means we’re about to be in the middle of a Malfoy crisis, aren’t we?”
As if on cue, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed from the end of the corridor.
“Raven!”
Lola’s voice rang through the hall as she and Mattheo came sprinting around the corner. The moment Lola spotted her daughter, she let out a deep sigh of relief, rushing forward and pulling Raven into a tight embrace.
“Merlin, Raven, you scared me half to death!” Lola scolded, though her voice was more shaken than angry. “You can’t just run off like that!”
Mattheo, catching his breath, knelt beside them. “Raven, what did we say about running away?” he asked, his tone serious.
Raven, still smiling, tilted her head. “That it’s bad?”
Lola groaned while Mattheo rubbed his temples. “Yes, exactly that,” he muttered.
Harry, trying to suppress his amusement, stood up. “She found us before Filch found her, so that’s a win,” he offered.
Lola huffed, standing up while keeping a firm grip on Raven’s hand. “Thank you for keeping an eye on her,” she said, then turned to her daughter. “And you, young lady, are getting no chocolate frogs for a week.”
Raven gasped dramatically. “A whole week?!”
Mattheo smirked, crossing his arms. “Actions have consequences, kid.”
Ron chuckled. “Harsh, but fair.”
As the Malfoy family turned to head back, Raven twisted around and waved at the trio. “Bye-bye, Harry! Bye-bye, nice people!”
Harry chuckled and waved back. “Try not to run away again, yeah?”
“No promises!” Raven called back, grinning mischievously.
As Lola groaned and Mattheo laughed, Harry, Ron, and Hermione exchanged glances.
“That kid,” Ron said, shaking his head. “She’s trouble.”
Harry smiled. “Yeah. But the fun kind of trouble.”
