Summary Raven was ...controlled

Albus couldn’t breathe.

Raven was getting worse. The black markings across her chest were spreading, twisting like ink bleeding into paper. Her skin was so hot, it was like standing next to an open flame.

And the worst part? Nothing was working.

Scorpius was frozen, his usual sarcasm long gone. Rose’s hands were shaking as she pressed another damp cloth against Raven’s bare shoulders, but it did nothing.

Albus sat beside her, gripping her scorching hand. “Raven. Stay with me.” His voice was pleading.

Her lips parted like she wanted to respond—but she couldn’t.

A choked sound escaped her instead, her body arching off the bed as another wave of pain hit.

Then—her eyes snapped open.

And they were glowing.

Not their usual stormy gray. Not even the eerie silver of her mother’s family.

But deep, unnatural gold.

A color that didn’t belong.

Rose gasped. Scorpius backed away. Albus tightened his grip on her hand.

“Raven?” His voice was barely above a whisper.

Her breathing hitched. Then—she screamed.

The entire room shook. The torches along the walls flickered wildly. A powerful gust of wind exploded from her body, knocking over books, chairs—even Scorpius.

Albus didn’t let go.

Raven’s body convulsed, and then—it stopped.

The light in her eyes faded. The heat vanished.

For a long, terrifying moment, she was completely still.

Then she exhaled—a shaky, exhausted breath. Her skin was pale, her body trembling. But the black markings on her chest?

They were gone.

Albus finally let out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding.

Rose was still frozen in shock.

Scorpius sat up from where he’d been thrown, running a hand through his disheveled hair. “…What the bloody hell was that?”

No one had an answer.

But as Albus stared down at Raven—still weak, barely conscious—he knew one thing.

This wasn’t over.

Not even close.
