Summary:What Raven had been scared of came true
Raven crossed her arms. “You two are hiding something.”
Draco and Lola exchanged another look, and Raven’s patience snapped.
“Tell me what’s going on.”
Lola sighed, running a hand through her hair. “It’s complicated.”
Draco’s jaw clenched. “It’s also not your concern.”
Raven glared. “Not my concern? Something was watching me and Abigail in the woods, and you think I don’t need to know?”
Draco opened his mouth, but Lola cut in.
“She’s right,” Lola admitted. “She’s old enough.”
Draco looked furious, but Lola ignored him and turned to Raven. “There’s something in those woods, Raven. Something… dark. And it’s been there for years.”
Raven’s stomach twisted.
“What do you mean ‘for years’?” she asked slowly.
Lola hesitated, then finally said, “It started after Voldemort came back.”
A shiver ran down Raven’s spine.
Lola continued, “After we thought Voldemort was gone for good, some of his magic lingered. The woods surrounding the manor were affected. Strange things started happening. Shadows moving. Whispers that weren’t there. Creatures that shouldn’t exist.”
Draco’s voice was low, serious. “At first, we thought it was just dark magic fading. But it never went away. And now… it’s getting stronger.”
Raven’s mind raced.
The whispers. The shadow. The feeling of being watched.
It wasn’t just her imagination.
And if the darkness was growing stronger…
“What does it want?” she whispered.
Lola hesitated. “We don’t know.”
Draco’s expression was grim. “But we’re going to find out.”
Raven gripped her wand.
If whatever was in the woods thought it could mess with her family, it had another thing coming.
