Summary: As soon as Albus was allowed in the room albus started to apologize

Albus paced outside the Hospital Wing, his heart still racing.

Scorpius stood beside him, arms crossed, smirking. “Mate, I have never seen someone turn that red before. Impressive, really.”

Albus groaned, rubbing his face. “I’m dead. She’s going to kill me. I—why did I look up?!”

Scorpius shrugged. “Honestly, your self-control was impressive until it wasn’t.”

Before Albus could come up with a retort, Madam Pomfrey opened the door. “You may see her now, Mr. Potter.”

Albus froze.

Scorpius clapped him on the back. “Good luck, lover boy.”

Albus glared at him but stepped inside.

Raven was sitting up in bed, looking tired but better. Her shirt was properly buttoned now, and Rose sat beside her, clearly debating whether to scold Albus or let Raven do it herself.

The moment Albus stepped forward, Raven arched an eyebrow.

Albus swallowed hard. “Raven, I—I swear I didn’t mean to—”

Raven tilted her head. “Didn’t mean to what, Potter?”

Albus turned so red he thought he might actually spontaneously combust. “I—uh—I mean—I accidentally saw but it was really fast, and I immediately looked away and—”

Raven just stared at him, arms crossed.

Albus panicked. “I—I swear on my life I wasn’t being a perv! I’ve had a crush on you for years, but I would never—”

Silence.

The room went completely still.

Albus blinked.

Rose slowly turned toward him. Scorpius, who had been eavesdropping by the door, audibly choked.

Raven narrowed her eyes. “What… did you just say?”

Albus felt the color drain from his face. “Oh. No.”

Raven leaned forward. “Potter.”

“Oh. No.”

Scorpius was dying outside the door. “I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS.”

Rose covered her mouth, horrified but deeply entertained.

Albus backed away toward the door. “I—uh—I mean—um—”

But before he could escape, Raven suddenly smirked.

“Well, well, well…” she mused, tilting her head. “Potter has a crush on me?”

Albus wanted to disappear. “I didn’t mean to say that out loud.”

Raven just grinned, despite her exhaustion. “Too late, lover boy.”

Scorpius wheeze-laughed outside.

Albus was never living this down.
