Summary: Lola and Matheo alone time.
The house was quieter than usual, the usual flurry of voices and the thunderous laughter of their children absent for the moment. It was the kind of rare evening when peace settled over the Malfoy estate, and in the soft glow of candlelight, Lola and Mattheo finally had time to themselves.
Lola had been running on adrenaline for the past few weeks—between taking care of Raven, the new baby, and trying to make sure everything stayed together. But tonight, as she stood in the bedroom, her hair loose around her shoulders and her eyes tired but content, it felt like the world had slowed down.
Mattheo leaned against the doorframe, watching her with a soft smile, his eyes warm with affection. “You know, I don’t think I’ve seen you look this relaxed in ages.”
Lola chuckled, glancing over her shoulder. “You’re not wrong. It feels strange, but kind of nice. No one’s screaming for attention, no one’s causing any trouble.”
Mattheo moved toward her, his expression more serious now, his eyes tracing the lines of her face. He reached out, gently brushing a lock of her hair behind her ear.
“I’ve been thinking about us,” he said quietly. “About everything we’ve been through… and how we’ve made it through together.”
Lola’s heart skipped a beat, the weight of his words settling over her like a blanket. She smiled softly, walking closer to him, her hands resting on his chest. “We’ve always made it work, haven’t we?”
He nodded, his hands moving to her waist, pulling her closer. “I just… I want you to know how much I appreciate you. All of this. You. Everything.”
Her heart softened, her voice barely a whisper. “I appreciate you too, Mattheo. I don’t know where I’d be without you.”
There was a brief pause as their eyes locked, and the world outside seemed to disappear. In that moment, there was nothing but the quiet warmth between them, the bond they had fought so hard to build.
Mattheo’s voice was hushed but full of longing. “Lola, I love you. And I want to make sure you know that, every day.”
Her smile widened, her hands gently cupping his face. “I love you too.”
In the quiet of their bedroom, the world outside felt miles away. And as they kissed, slow and tender, all the chaos of their lives faded, leaving only the peace of being together, just for a moment.
