Summary: Draco finds out that Voldemort is alive after he killed him after he almost killed Lola.
Draco had never felt true horror like this.
His boots crunched against the forest floor as he ran, his wand clutched so tightly his knuckles went white. He had felt it—the shift in the air, the sickening pull of dark magic that sent a chill down his spine.
He didn’t know how, he didn’t know why—but something was wrong.
And then he saw them.
Lola. Mattheo. Raven.
And standing before them, shrouded in a veil of darkness, was a figure Draco had sworn he had killed with his own hands.
Voldemort.
Draco stumbled to a stop, his heart hammering against his ribs. This wasn’t possible.
He had watched him die.
He had felt the magic leave his body when he struck him down, when he avenged his sister, when he made sure Voldemort would never touch their lives again.
And yet—
Here he stood. Whole. Alive. Smiling.
“Ah… young Malfoy,” Voldemort breathed, his voice sending a tremor through the air. “You look as though you’ve seen a ghost.”
Draco’s blood boiled.
“You’re dead.” His voice was low, furious. “I killed you.”
Voldemort let out a slow, chilling chuckle.
“Did you?”
Draco’s fingers twitched over his wand, his entire body coiled tight with rage.
But then—
Raven took a step forward.
Draco’s breath caught.
Something was wrong. Her normally warm, golden eyes were void of emotion, dark magic still clinging to her small frame like she was nothing but a puppet on strings.
Lola reached for her desperately, but Raven didn’t move. She just stared straight ahead.
Voldemort’s long fingers brushed over Raven’s curls.
“She has such potential,” he mused, his voice dripping with amusement. “Such raw, untouched power.”
Draco’s vision went red.
“You stay away from her.”
Voldemort smiled—a slow, taunting smile.
“Or what?”
Draco raised his wand.
And this time—he wasn’t going to miss.
