Summary: Raven got hurt super bad and Abbi got her dad since Lola and Draco were in a different side of the forest.

Raven barely had time to react before something slammed into her.

Pain exploded through her body as she was thrown backward, crashing into the rough forest floor. Her wand flew from her hand, lost in the darkness.

“Waven!” Abigail’s terrified scream rang through the trees.

Raven tried to move, but pain seared through her leg and ribs. She gasped, blinking through the haze of darkness surrounding her. Something was wrong—she couldn’t feel her wand’s magic anymore.

The shadows shifted again, creeping toward them like living smoke.

"Stay down, little one," the whispering voice taunted. "You should have never come here."

Raven gritted her teeth. She wasn’t going to let this thing win.

But before she could even attempt to move, Abigail took off running.

“Abbi—” Raven gasped, trying to reach for her. “No! Go back!”

But Abigail was already sprinting through the trees, her tiny legs carrying her as fast as they could.

She needed to find her dad.

———

Mattheo Riddle was in the manor, pacing anxiously.

Lola and Draco had gone to investigate the woods hours ago, and now—Raven and Abigail were missing too.

Something was wrong. He could feel it.

Then—

“DADDY!”

Mattheo’s head snapped toward the tree line just as Abigail burst out of the woods.

His heart nearly stopped when he saw her tear-streaked face.

“Abbi?” He ran forward, catching her as she threw herself into his arms. “What happened? Where’s your mother?”

Abigail was sobbing. “It got Waven!” she wailed. “She got hurt—she’s still there!”

Mattheo’s blood ran cold.

Without hesitation, he drew his wand and took off toward the woods, faster than he’d ever run before.

No one—no one—hurt his daughter.

And lived to tell about it.
