Summary: Lola got hurt from the darkness and Raven is barley breathe

The air around them thickened, pressing against their chests like an invisible force. The darkness wasn’t just lingering anymore—it was moving. Watching. Hunting.

Draco tightened his grip on his wand, his sharp gaze flicking through the shadows. “Show yourself,” he snarled, his voice laced with fury.

Lola barely had time to react before a cold, black force slammed into her, knocking her off her feet.

A scream tore from her lips as she crashed against the hard forest floor. A searing, unbearable pain shot through her ribs as dark tendrils of magic wrapped around her body, clawing at her skin.

Mattheo turned sharply, his heart stopping. “Lola!”

But he couldn’t move. Not with Raven clinging to his chest, her breathing growing weaker by the second.

Draco’s eyes widened in horror as he watched his sister writhe in agony.

“No—NO!” He lunged forward, slashing his wand through the air. A burst of silver light shot toward the darkness, tearing it away from Lola just long enough for her to gasp for air.

She clutched her side, her entire body trembling as she tried to push herself up.

But before she could fully rise, the darkness struck again.

A second, more powerful blast sent Lola flying backward, slamming her into a tree. A sickening crack echoed through the woods as she crumpled to the ground, her breath coming out in ragged, pained gasps.

Draco saw red.

Rage like he had never felt before coursed through him, raw and uncontrollable. He turned his wand toward the shadows, his magic flaring to life, powerful and violent.

"You shouldn’t have done that."

The whisper came again, curling around them like smoke.

Mattheo’s arms tightened around Raven. She was still so still.

Too still.

He looked down at her, and his stomach dropped.

Her tiny body was barely moving, her breath so faint it was almost nonexistent.

“No, no, no—stay with me, baby,” he whispered, his voice breaking. He pressed his forehead to hers, his hands shaking.

She didn’t respond.

She was slipping.

And if he didn’t do something now, he was going to lose her.

Mattheo turned to Draco, his voice raw with desperation. “Get them out of here.”

Draco hesitated for a fraction of a second.

Then he nodded.

With a powerful flick of his wand, he summoned the last of his strength, creating a barrier of silver flames between them and the encroaching darkness.

He ran to Lola first, lifting her up with an ease that didn’t match the sheer terror in his eyes. She groaned in pain, barely conscious, but she clung to him.

Draco turned back to Mattheo, eyes filled with urgency. "GO!"

Mattheo didn’t hesitate. He held Raven as close as he could, his arms protecting her fragile, weakening body as he sprinted toward the edge of the woods.

Behind them, the darkness roared, furious at its prey escaping.

The manor was in sight.

But Mattheo knew—this wasn’t over.

And if they didn’t figure out what had happened to Raven soon…

She might never wake up.
