Summary:Raven and her friend help her find out what she is dying from
After the awkward uniform mishap, the group refocused. They weren’t just dealing with some lingering curse—Raven’s life was in danger, and none of them were willing to stand by and let her suffer.
Rose had already flipped through several books, searching for anything remotely similar to Raven’s symptoms. Albus and Scorpius, meanwhile, had been throwing around theories, though most were either ridiculous or terrifying.
“What if it’s some kind of ancient curse?” Albus suggested. “Something tied to—you know—Him.” He refused to say Voldemort’s name.
“Or,” Scorpius added grimly, “what if it’s a Horcrux?”
Silence fell over the table.
Raven froze.
“No. Absolutely not.” She shook her head. “I’m not—there’s no way—”
“We don’t know that,” Scorpius said cautiously. “The symptoms line up. Unexplainable pain, dark magic, visions, the suffocating feeling—”
Raven clenched her fists. He wasn’t wrong. But the thought of being anything remotely connected to Voldemort made her sick.
Rose sighed. “We need more information before we jump to conclusions. Maybe it’s a cursed object, not Raven herself.”
“Or maybe,” Raven muttered, “it’s just punishment for what I did.”
They all went silent again.
No one needed to ask what she meant.
She had killed Voldemort. And Bellatrix.
She had done what no one else could.
And now, she was dying for it.
Albus suddenly sat forward, his green eyes sharp. “We’re not going to let you die, Raven.”
“Damn right, we’re not,” Rose added.
Scorpius nodded. “We’re Malfoys. We don’t go down without a fight.”
Raven took a shaky breath. For the first time in months, she didn’t feel completely alone.
“…Okay,” she finally said. “Then let’s figure out how to fix me.”
And with that, the real search began.
