Summary: Lola made a choice to bring Raven back.

Silence fell over the clearing.

Lola’s breath hitched, her chest tightening as Voldemort’s words sank in.

"A soul for a soul."

Mattheo and Draco reacted instantly.

“No,” Mattheo growled, surging to his feet. His body trembled with pure fury as he pointed his wand directly at Voldemort’s face. “That’s not happening.”

Draco stepped in front of Lola, shielding her with his body. “Try it,” he hissed, his magic crackling in the air. “I dare you.”

Voldemort merely watched them.

Unbothered. Calm. Patient.

And that was what terrified Lola the most.

Because he knew something they didn’t.

She swallowed hard, forcing herself to stand tall. “Why?” she demanded. “Why do you want a soul? You’re not even alive.”

Voldemort tilted his head, amused. “I may not have a body,” he mused, “but I am not dead, either. I exist in between—trapped, weakened.” His crimson eyes flickered toward Raven. “And she brought me back.”

Lola clenched her fists. “She didn’t mean to.”

He chuckled. “Intentions are meaningless in the face of magic, dear girl.” He took a step closer, and the shadows swirled with him. “But you… you understand magic in a way most do not.” His gaze bore into hers. “That is why I will give you a choice.”

Lola’s stomach churned. She already knew what he was going to say.

“A soul for a soul,” Voldemort repeated smoothly. “Give me one—**yours, his, your dear brother’s—**and the girl is yours.”

Draco let out a sharp, bitter laugh. “You think we’re going to just hand you one of our souls? You must be more delusional in death than you were in life.”

Voldemort didn’t even flinch. “Then you will lose her forever.”

Mattheo turned to Lola, his dark eyes wild. “There has to be another way.”

Lola bit her lip, her mind racing.

There was always another way. Magic always had loopholes.

But they were running out of time.

Her gaze flickered to Raven. Her baby girl. Standing there, completely still, her little hands limp at her sides, her face blank.

She wasn’t even breathing.

If they didn’t act fast, they would lose her.

Lola exhaled slowly, forcing herself to think past the panic.

And then—it hit her.

She turned sharply to Draco. “Do you still have it?”

Draco frowned. “Have what?”

“The Resurrection Stone.”

Draco’s expression shifted instantly. His grip tightened on his wand, his entire body going rigid.

Mattheo’s head snapped toward him. “You have the Resurrection Stone?”

Draco didn’t move. His jaw clenched, but… he nodded.

Lola’s hands shook. “It’s a part of the Deathly Hallows,” she whispered. “It bridges the gap between life and death.” She turned back to Voldemort, her heart pounding. “You’re trapped in between, right? The Resurrection Stone doesn’t bring people fully back, but… it lets them exist.”

Voldemort watched her, intrigued. “Go on.”

Lola swallowed. “If we use the stone on you, you won’t need a soul to anchor you. You’ll be able to exist without one.”

Draco’s grip on his wand tightened. “Lola…”

She ignored him.

“I can bind you to the forest,” she continued, her mind working rapidly. “You won’t be able to leave, but you won’t fade away either.”

Voldemort’s gaze flickered with interest.

Draco, however, was furious.

“Absolutely not,” he snapped. “We’re not binding him to anything. He should be gone—forever.”

Mattheo nodded sharply. “Draco’s right. He can’t stay.”

Lola turned to them, her voice urgent. “We don’t have time for this! If we don’t give him something, Raven is going to die.”

Draco’s expression darkened. He hated this. Hated the idea of letting Voldemort exist in any form.

But then his eyes flickered to Raven.

And his heart broke.

His niece. His family.

His hands shook.

Lola turned back to Voldemort. “This is your only option,” she said firmly. “The Stone or nothing.”

A long, tense silence followed.

And then—

Voldemort smiled.

“I accept.”

Lola let out a slow, shaky breath.

Draco hesitated, then begrudgingly pulled out a small, black stone from his pocket. The Deathly Hallow. The one thing that bridged the gap between the living and the dead.

He looked at Lola one last time. “You better be right about this.”

Lola took the stone from his hand, turned back to Voldemort—

—and dropped it into the earth.

Magic exploded.

The forest shook. Shadows tore apart. Voldemort’s form twisted and contorted, his voice breaking into a soundless scream as the Stone bound him.

Bound him to the forest.

And then—

Raven gasped.

Her body jerked violently. The darkness around her shattered, and suddenly—she was moving.

She blinked rapidly, her little hands shaking, her eyes filled with terror.

“…M-Mommy?”

Lola collapsed to her knees, sobbing.

Mattheo grabbed Raven, crushing her into his arms, whispering her name over and over again.

Draco stepped back, his breath unsteady.

And Voldemort… was gone.

Not dead.

But bound. Forever.
