Summary: Your former bully decides to explore that last love language with you.

repercussion

/noun/

an unintended consequence occurring some time after an event or action, especially an unwelcome one.

It started with fleeting touches.

Oikawa would offer to hand out homework and gently brush against your fingers when he gave you your papers. It was so subtle, you couldn't be positive it wasn't an accident.

But it got worse.

He'd come up behind you in the hallways and sling an arm around your shoulder. When you shrugged him off, he'd just say, "Oh, don't be shy! We're friends, aren't we?"

Becoming "friends" with Oikawa was news to you. You still thought of him as a bully. Your friends seemed to have forgotten that he was a jerk to you.

"Oikawa is so nice and handsome," one of your friends swooned, "You're so lucky to get his attention."

"I don't want his attention," you snapped.

"He's just an affectionate guy," another friend reasoned, "You're overthinking it too much."

As if to illustrate their point, your waist was seized and you were suddenly pulled flush to your former bully's chest. You tensed up immediately and Oikawa chuckled, "Don't be so stiff! We're friends, remember?"

He rested his chin on your shoulder and you could feel his grin as your friends all said "Awww". You could practically read their minds- they thought you were cute together, probably shipped you with him.

You wrenched yourself out of his grip and your friends gasped. "Go away, Oikawa," you snarled.

He held up both hands in defense, a little laugh coming out of his mouth. You whirled around to face him and were incensed to see that he wore a charming grin. He patted you on the back and continued down the hallway. You turned to your friends, expecting some support.

"You're so lucky!" they sighed dreamily.

Lucky? LUCKY? You let out an angry noise and stormed away. Clearly, you weren't getting any support from them.

From that day on, it only got worse. Oikawa seemed to be everywhere all at once. He sat next to you in classes, he ate lunch with you no matter where you went... And the worst part? Your friends thought it was sweet.

Eventually, whispers began to spread across the school. You heard them refer to you as "paranoid", "cold", and "bitchy". It began to weigh on you. Were you really in the wrong for not letting Oikawa be your "friend"?

You would remember all the terrible things he did to you in the past and think: why does no one else remember?

Your friends wouldn't listen. Your classmates didn't believe you. And worst of all? You were beginning to doubt yourself.

—--------------------------------------

It had been a long day. You had avoided Oikawa to the best of your abilities. Yet he still managed to corner you at the end of science class.

"You forgot your notebook, silly!" he claimed, holding up an unfamiliar pink notebook.

"That's not mine," you said, annoyed.

"Really?" a smug smile spread across Oikawa's face and he flipped it open to a random page.

Your blood ran cold.

The handwriting looked enough like yours to confuse you for a moment, but when you started to read, you knew immediately this was a set-up.

Disgusting confessions about Oikawa filled the page, making it look like you were stalking him, making you look like a tsundere that was obsessed with him.

"I can have everyone read this, and they'll say you're a hypocrite and disturbed," Oikawa threatened, smile widening, "Or, you could agree to date me, and no one will think you're a freak."

You reached for the notebook, but Oikawa raised it out of reach.

"You made this all up!" you yelled, "Anyone who knows me would know it's fake!"

Oikawa chuckled, "But do they really know you? Or will they think 'Huh, this makes sense. She was just playing hard to get'?"

Remembering how your friends had swooned over his advances, your heart began to sink. "You wouldn't actually do this-"

"Oh, but I would," Oikawa laughed, his brown eyes glinting, "I've already set everything up. It'd be such a shame if this got in the wrong hands, wouldn't you say?"

Oikawa was a star athlete, beloved by the teachers and students- who would believe you over him?

"So," Oikawa sighed like he was getting bored, "What'll it be? Be mine? Or be the school's biggest scandal?"

You could fight this, scream to the rooftops that it was all a lie. But deep down, you knew that'd never work.

Oikawa had already won.
