I wrote this a little differently than normal but I thought present tense fit best for this story.

"'Cause if I could see your face once more
I could die a happy man, I'm sure
When you said your last goodbye
I died a little bit inside"
"All I Want" by Kodaline
It takes eighteen years each time.
Eighteen years to search you down and find you. Sometimes you already have a job, but more recently, in modern times, he usually finds you on a college campus.
You're so different each time, but your personality stays the same each time. And, unfortunately for Oikawa, so does your soulmate.
—----------------------------------------
He knows it's you the moment he spots you. It doesn't matter that you look different from last time, he just knows. Maybe the fact that you walk hand-in-hand with Kageyama Tobio gives it away.
He wishes he could follow you, but you're out in the bright sunlight and he doesn't want to be a pile of ashes. Girls don't find that attractive.
But the moment he finds you alone, he makes his move. He knows he's handsome and charming, and he uses that to his full advantage. He tells you how beautiful you look and your face flushes. What a cute reaction!
And maybe he's going too far when he's giving you a bouquet of your favorite flowers. You look so surprised and confused at first, then you reveal you already have a boyfriend. He's not stupid, you know, he just doesn't care.
He's desperate- he'd do anything to sever the bond between you and Kageyama. But it's the same every time. You look into the ravenette's eyes like he's hung the stars in the sky.
The two of you always die young, then reincarnate together. It's not fair at all. You don't remember the tragic ways you've died, but Oikawa does.
But maybe that's not the truth. Maybe a part of you does remember. Whenever he visits you while you're sleeping- not as a creep, he'd never touch you without permission- you're tossing and turning from whatever nightmare is consuming you.
Or maybe you're dreaming about him. He hopes not. If that's the case, he wants a smile on your pretty face and for you to have a peaceful slumber.
Your neck is exposed and Oikawa struggles to keep himself in check. The only way he'll drink your blood is if you're drinking his at the same time. That way, you'd be immortal and all this "dying young" nonsense would come to an end.
You thrash around in your bed, letting out little whimpers of fear. Then, you bolt upright and, breathing heavily, catch Oikawa staring at you from across your bedroom. Your breathing stops altogether at the sight of him.
"Whoopsie daisy!" he says, as if he's bumped into you on campus and not broken into your house.
You scream. Loud and long.
Oikawa curses and throws the window open. He leaps out, even though you're on the third floor. A fall like that won't hurt an immortal being like a vampire.
You rush to your window and look outside, but he's long gone. You begin to wonder. Was he even there to begin with? Maybe it was just an after effect of your nightmares. But, boy, that had looked like that boy at college that won't leave you alone.
Oikawa returns to his mansion before sunrise. He approaches the massive shrine he's made of the things you've left behind after each death. Embarrassingly enough, he's spent each eighteen-year-wait talking to it as though it's you. It's the closest thing he has to you.
He kneels before the shrine, running his fingers over a scorched school ID from your sixth life. "Sorry, angel, I didn't mean to scare you. You just looked so divine, sleeping there."
The shrine doesn't respond, but he can feel your presence in every piece. He can sense your laughter, your tears, and your final breaths.
He picks up a photograph he took in this life. You, standing in the sunlight, laughing at something Kageyama said. Your gaze was so full of love and happiness.
Just not for Oikawa.
Oikawa snarls and crushes it in his hand. He immediately regrets the action and smooths it back out.
It's been ten short lifetimes since he met you. He knows everything he needs to know about you.
He looks back at Kageyama- lying on the floor with blood pooling around his neck. Not dead.
At least, not yet.
—--------------------------------------------------
Your recurring dream fades for what feels like the hundredth time. You can still feel the white hot pain of Oikawa's fangs piercing your neck in the nightmare.
He's sitting on the end of your bed, cross-legged, looking at you with a smug grin.
You reach for the stake you've hidden under your pillow but don't take it out yet. He smiles and waves as though you're meeting on the street.
"Do you want to see Kageyama again?" He asks.
You slip the stake into your pajama pocket discreetly. You don't know if he actually is a vampire, but you're sure stabbing straight through the heart would kill a normal person too.
"What do you mean?" you ask. You have a bad feeling you know exactly what he means.
Oikawa grins, but there's no warmth in his smile. His fangs glint and you gulp. So he is a vampire after all. You wonder how your dreams knew that fact before you did.
"Angel," he purrs, "You know exactly what I mean."
You swallow hard. Was your dream really a dream? You touch the side of your neck- no marks, thank God.
"What did you do to him?" you try to sound brave, but your voice trembles.
Oikawa stretches like he just woke up from a nap and casually says, "Oh, he's still alive. For now. You should be grateful, sweetheart. I'm feeling merciful today."
Anger rushes through you. "Grateful"?
"If you hurt him-"
"Oh, but I already did," Oikawa cuts you off, "And I'll do worse."
There's something wrong about the way he moves when he gets up. It's too fluid and quick to be human.
"I've had to watch you die over and over again," his face is suddenly inches from you, "I've held your body while you bleed out and, even then, you look for him."
Oikawa takes a deep breath, "Look, I can take you to him. You can say goodbye or try to save him or whatever. But if you come with me, you are never leaving. And I do mean never."
You curl your fingers around the stake. "...Take me to him."
He holds out a hand like a gentleman asking for a dance.
And you take it.
