David's POV:

The last time our team played in the finals, I couldn't sleep.
I stayed up night running every game plan that Uncle Richard had drilled into our minds, thinking of solutions for every possible problem that could happen.
Preparing myself mentally, so that I could play at my utmost best.

But this time, I couldn't think about game plans, solutions to problems.
My mind was wondering throughout the night about Ariel, if she had told my uncle and Mr Norah of what she had discovered?

I knew that Ivan was capable of getting rid of threats, but I've never thought that he would have the back bone to do anything so drastic.
When he was still a Knights' player, he would try to intimidate the other teams. Play mind games with them, make them fear him on and off the pitch.

He bullied them, there were times when I would step in and stop him. But other times, I didn't, that's on me. This whole situation is on me.

But to use and manipulate two guys to do half of his dirty work, and pretend to be innocent. Then hide behind his little puppets and let them take the fall.

The thought brought so much rage inside of me that I might choke him on sight. I just might when our teams line up beside one another before the match.

It's the most shameful thing that anyone has done in the tournament.
It doesn't make him a man, it makes him weak, pathetic, a coward.

What upset me even more is that Android wouldn't support Ariel.
Even if it meant they lose the trophy, get some mud on the team's reputation. She was the girl whom he once loved, or cared for maybe.

Even after being given solid proof of her suspensions of Ivan joining their team. Android should have agreed with Jennifer, instead of not saying anything at all.

Just like how you stayed quiet and left her with everyone else, mate?

That reminder hit me like a sledgehammer, causing my stomach to turn with dread.
I shouldn't have made her feel guilty, by not speaking either. I should have stood by her, I should have taken her side, even when it felt uncomfortable as Captain.

Even if the idea of winning this tournament by default would have brought a lot of anger and frustration to the team and myself. But I should have been on Anela's side, in spite of all of those factors. And not stay silent. Especially when everyone walked out on her. I left her to face all of this alone again.

I shouldn't have done that. Why did I do it to her?

I can't remember how long I've been sitting in the dinning hall, watching Ivan from across the room.
Watching him sit at a table, talking and laughing with his teammates.
Acting as normal as possible, being confident about their win.
Even if his team captain wasn't paying much attention to the conversation.

And five tables on the right away from theirs, sat Tenzin and his team. Most of them were debating which team was going to win. Others were talking about how they would have liked to play in the final match.

Yet Tenzin was barely listening to any of them, his mind clearly focused on what was said yesterday. How he threatened Ariel with their friendship if she had to tell the truth.
To protect the rookie on his team with a broken background which caused him to become an injured dog who bites when frightened.

Those words brought a lot of pain through Ariel's eyes, besides anger. I don't know much about their friendship, but I've seen how much it means to her. How much she treasure it, and she doesn't want to loose it.
