The misadventures of a Main Character [Complete]

VII - "You don't know you're beautiful."

With the lute finally in tune, and the dreaded cat-scarf digesting in Gregory's stomach, Buttercup began to sing.

Main enjoyed the music. It was pleasing, and he liked that she was singing about him. Always good to be on an evil-overlord's good side.

She started into the chorus again: "You know you light up my life like nobody else-" (Fitting, as he did have a bonfire.)

Gregory glanced into the dark woods. He placed his four left ears to the ground, giving him three-dimensional hearing sense.

"The way that you flick your hair gets me overwhelmed-" (Main ran a hand through his greasy, though thinning hair)

Gregory frowned into the ground, his eyebrows furrowing together. Something was very wrong. What it was, he just couldn't tell... the pebbles around the trio started to shake.

A lone, crazed shriek broke out through the shrill night air: "You don't know you're beautiful!"

It was answered again and again. The maddened female voices that drew nearer and nearer.

"Bloody hell," Buttercup said, her lute playing ceased. Flames of trauma glistened in her eyes. "We're doomed. We'll be torn to shreds..."

"What is it?" Main asked.

"It's... it's the fan-girls," she whispered.

"W-what?!" Main gasped, his face contorted in terror. "It can't be...we were so close!"

"Our quest," Buttercup murmured, "is ending now, Main. There's no hope for us."

"No." Gregory suddenly stood. "You two go ahead. I'll handle this."

"...Greg, you're a troll."

"Not anymore I'm not!" Suddenly, Gregory's three heads split into three different people, and each one morphed into a different teen celebrity. The mean head became Justin Bieber, the moderate head became Harry Styles, and the nice head became Shawn Mendes.

"Now, you two go! GO!" They shouted in perfect sync.

"We'll never forget you, Gregory!" Main sobbed.
