Main gulped back his sorrows. He couldn't have killed Buttercup! At least, he didn't have any memory of killing Buttercup... "And you never looked for me?" Main asked. "I mean, did you ever see me again after the party?"
Gregory shook his heads. "Honestly, we may have celebrated too hard; I lost an entire week after that night. When I finally came to my senses, I realized you were missing, so I resurrected the fan-girls to look for you." The troll shook his head. "We didn't even find a trail - it was like you'd been magicked away; until Buttercup's wedding night and again yesterday, that is."
There was a knock at on the stone wall, and Helena entered the dungeon. She placed a tea tray next to the sharp tools on the table. "I can't believe you won't let me turn this into Yaoi," she said to Greg, as she backed out of the room. "I mean, I get it --it did take me seven years to find Main -- but I did find him."
"What else happened?" Main interrupted.
"Well, King Bumperstinck declared war on my Main Brigade; he blamed me entirely for Buttercup's death,so we rallied into a kingdom to protect the other villages in the area. We've been at war with them for almost two years now." He paused, taking a sip of tea. "There's entirely too much finger pointing going on here."
"I agree," Main said. "And on the sanctity of our friendship, I didn't kill Buttercup!"
"Neither did I," Gregory said.
"Then we'd better find the person who did."
"Agreed. Helena!" Gregory called. "Ready the Wilde geese. We have a particular 'Bevan' we need to have some words to."

"Aye aye, sir!" Helena's voice called.
Gregory stood and unshackled Main from the wall. Main exited, resisting the urge to give his old pal a hug. They had more important plot-related things to do now.
"Where did you last see Bevan?" Gregory queried.
"On the edge of river where I was captured," Main said. "He jumped in and swam off to avoid being captured."
"That slippery snake," Gregory grumbled. "Come on, the Wilde geese should be saddled by now. Let's head off."
